August 14, 200916 yr QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 05:53 PM) Hudson starting against Arrieta, should be a good one :o :o Hudson struggling a bit in the first. Brent Morel just went yard. Edited August 14, 200916 yr by SoxAce
August 14, 200916 yr Do you think Peavy is giving some tips to Hudson? I don't think I would mind that.
August 15, 200916 yr I wasn't listening, but it looks like Donny Lucy came out of the game after getting a hit. Not good, because Adam Ricks had to come in and Jared Price was put on the temporary inactive list for some reason the other day. Hopefully not bereavement, but usually the case. Not good, because Adam Ricks had to come in and Jared Price was put on the temporary inactive list for some reason the other day. Hopefully not bereavement, but usually the case. I saw that too - recap says Lucy reached on a base hit to the third baseman, then was PR'd for by Ricks. Man, ever since that May 2008 injury, things have just gone really badly for Donny. And it seemed back then, at the time of the injury, like he was doing well in AAA and ready to take over as the backup C.

Man, ever since that May 2008 injury, things have just gone really badly for Donny. And it seemed back then, at the time of the injury, like he was doing well in AAA and ready to take over as the backup C. Thankfully Ricks has worked with a lot of the pitchers on the Barons. I don't know why Price is inactive, but B'ham will need him if Lucy's hurt for any significant time.
August 15, 200916 yr Author Hudson settling down very nicely after a rough first inning; 6 IP, 3 H, 1 R (0 ER), 2 BB, 5 K. 89 pitches so he may be done.
August 15, 200916 yr Josh Fields just homered off Arrieta. A pitcher with a great fastball and filthy moving breaking stuff. Hopefully, a sign that he's getting his stroke.

August 15, 200916 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 09:02 PM) Hudson next Wednesday at the Cell....please. Absolutely. The young guy needs to be given a chance to prove himself over Freddy Garcia. I fear, however, that this will not be the case.
August 15, 200916 yr Author QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Aug 15, 2009 -> 02:09 AM) Hudson's back out for the 7th. Quick inning, 7 pitches; 7 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 6 K.
August 15, 200916 yr QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 08:11 PM) Absolutely. The young guy needs to be given a chance to prove himself over Freddy Garcia. I fear, however, that this will not be the case. Freddy will pitch Tuesday either way. Hudson would be replacing Contreras on Wednesday. 1-2-3 7th inning for Hudson. Still under 100 pitches.

August 15, 200916 yr This 2nd announcer in the booth is f***ing terrible. Edit: talking about the Knights here. Edited August 15, 200916 yr by Kenny Hates Prospects
August 15, 200916 yr QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 08:15 PM) This 2nd announcer in the booth is f***ing terrible. Edit: talking about the Knights here. They're both bad, plus the main guy is a complete jerk. I've e-mailed him before, I wouldn't recommend it. Edited August 15, 200916 yr by JPN366
August 15, 200916 yr FYI, Hudson's next start, if he remains with Charlotte, will also be on MiLB.tv next week. He should pitch again on the 19th against Durham.
August 15, 200916 yr Viciedo 1-5 with an RBI 2b. Danks 0-4 1 BB and 2 K's. (now at .249) Retherford 1-4 David Cook 1-3 2 BB's and 2 RBI's.
August 15, 200916 yr Hudson!! His efficiency is unreal and the reason I believe that he will prosper with the Sox.
August 15, 200916 yr I really think Danks' wrist needs to be reevaluated. It looks like he's having some serious trouble.
August 15, 200916 yr Hahn and Fabian were in attendance for Huddy's start tonight. Perhaps he will be in Chicago sometime soon? http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,2583716.story

Still under 100 pitches. Wow, really sounds like Huddy might be up by Wednesday. I think he could benefit from some more time in the minors but the kid is clearly poised.
August 15, 200916 yr i really think if we're gonna win this year, which i hope we can, its gonna be without hudson i think he will be an integral part of our team starting next year (as the 5th starter) and even more so in the future. but for this year, i think we need to do it without him. he was in LOW A at the beginning of this season that being said, hudson is f'n awesome
