July 24, 200322 yr With the pirates fire sale, do they have any high priced pitchers left that they may move?
July 24, 200322 yr Author also, pirates wont want to take on salary... thats why they are doing the sale.. so prolly wont get much done there...
July 24, 200322 yr The Pirates can keep Benson. The only trade I'd want to see with the Pirates would involve us getting Giles in return.
July 24, 200322 yr I don't want Benson either. I was just answering his question. I totally understand you were just answering his question, I was just saying that I didn't want him. Sorry if I sounded like a jackass or anything.

I just didn't want people to misinterpret what I said, and have them think I wanted Benson. Talk about looking like a jackass.
July 24, 200322 yr Yep, it would be foolish to take Benson considering the Sox don't have a high payroll.
July 24, 200322 yr Benson could be good, but I don't think a team should take the risk on him at this time of year. Some up and coming team could take him and hope he solidifies their rotation a bit. If the Sox get Benson I'd be disappointed, but he could be good somewhere else.
July 24, 200322 yr Benson sucks. I don't want him. Get Suppan, Wells, Fogg or Giles. Giles will not happen because of the high priced salary tho.

We could likely get him rather cheap too. Maybe for a mid-level quasi-prospect, Pittsburgh seems to be taking just about anything.
July 24, 200322 yr There's a lot of teams looking for pitching, and many of those teams are looking at Suppan. Don't just think you can throw a 3rd or 4th tier prospect at Pittsburgh and they'll jump at it. His salary is not astronomical, they may just hang on to him.
July 24, 200322 yr Author Ummm... is everyone forgetting gile's no-trade clause.... that includes chicago???
