Now Rock you know very well there are a lot of annoying Apple fan boys out there.

Samsung, HTC, Nokia, Motorola...well, all of them partake in this exact same nonsense...yet you single out Apple? That doesn't make you sound biased or anything.

I f***ing hate Apple. I don't know why every time I make a comment about them, people are surprised. I'm not hiding my feeling about them. I hope the company goes bankrupt, and Steve Job's ghost will stop "reinventing" and "revolutionizing" everything. Somehow I think I'll survive with Apple.

The problem is, back then, it was kind of different to use Apple stuff, since only about 1% of the world did.

 

Today, more people/devices use Google's Android than Apple's iPhone...so you aren't different for using Android, when a majority of people use them. This makes zero sense.

AS you know Android is an operating system and the iphone is a device, and the most widely used device in the market today. You cant compare android with the iphone, you can compare the sense or the samsung models with it for a fair comparison

 

And Apple's roots are the people who wanted to be different and cool, up to a few years ago, now its "mainstream" and the "cool" guys are off being different with something else. Its fine with me, I like Apple for its intuitive designs and flawless hardware/software integration.

Yes, but you cannot say Android is the number one phone people use because its not. Thats my entire point. The iphone is not comparable to the android operating system which was what was being said and what I replied to.

 

The iphone dominates this market because the android platform has too many different devices operating on several different versions and customizations of android. Android does however dominate the mobile platform piece of the market, although in my experience developers are much more focused on developing applications for iOS.

Betamax was revolutionary technology that unfortunately was released as a proprietary platform for only one and then a small number of hardware manufacturers. They also never got the full buy in from the media companies. The Zune is a proprietary platform produced by only one supplier correct? And it was somewhat passed by by a more universally accepted technology?

The zune hd IS outdated today, as are ALL stand alone MP3 players. You aren't just wrong on this, you're so wrong, you've wrapped around to the other side so you think you're right. And if it was being used as an analogy, which you originally thought, you didn't have even understood the analogy, which both of your previous posts have shown.

 

20 years? WTF century do you live in? Technology has about a 2-3 year lifespan today, not 20.

 

Now, as for why the analogy WOULD make sense:

 

BetaMax was considered better than the alternative VHS.

 

VHS won despite this because it had better 3rd party support, and better 3rd party tape support. BetaMax people eventually moved on when the technology was abandoned, despite their correct claim that it was better. Quite like how Microsoft abandoned the Zune...which it did. It's a dead tech with no future, whether you like it or not.
