Boone Logan was tipping the gun at 97 MPH while Bad Bobby Jenks only tickled 96 once?? Can this be true, Hawk and Stoney said this was the 'Truest' radar gun in the league...I was shocked!

dont think so, according to fangraph, his fast ball averages a tick below 92 mph this season, however i do remember his fastball topping out at 94 mph when he was in his second year with the sox.

on a second thought, jenks fast ball has be topping 95, 96 consistently this year, if the reading is correct for jenks, it couldn't go wrong for logan.

Pitch f/x had Logan at 95.60 MPH average and 96.8 MPH max for today's game and they had Jenks at 95.33 MPH avg. and 95.7 MPH max. Sound like the gun at Yankee stadium was pretty accurate.

That sounds right to me. Jenks was 90% fastballs and was 95-96 on pretty much every pitch.
