Beckham's early season struggles

Featured Replies

I think most people already knew his mechanics were terrible this year.

The article and videos are cool.

I don't know why they simply wrote, "Luckily for the White Sox, Beckham seems to have made the proper adjustments at just the right time," rather than show us another video with the adjustments he's made later in the season.

He was loading more, maybe he was trying to hit for more power? I noticed that he's changed his stance at the plate recently. He's now closed, whereas he was either slightly open or wide before.

FWIW, seems like the guy missed the most glaring issue that's been nagging him. He's trying to suggest that he's flying open which both Beckham and Walker have scoffed at. Everyone seems to think batters are flying open when they struggle.

I suggest you take a look at his right elbow in both videos. You'll see it more clearly on the straight on angle vs. the CF angle. It's higher this season than last, which is why the angle of the bat is different. And it's probably why he's lost the power of swinging from the inside. Like the golf swing, it's usually fundamentals like the stance that start athletes into bad habits. Just my opinion.

^ Latest Sox Drawer from Chuck Garfien , all about Beckham, we can find out "Outfield" is back to some extent and how some older fan 'fixed' Becks by writing him a letter. Good read.

So all it took for Beckham to realize that he had an uppercut swing was for some 78 year old to write about how Ichiro doesn't upper cut, so you should be more like him?

Sounds a bit corny. :lolhitting

His hips have little to do with what they broke down. His hands and his weight are very off compared to 2009. His hands do a full circle before the bat gets moving and his upper body is pitched towards the pitcher before contact.

Walker read it and thought "OF COURSE!!" :P
