August 3, 201015 yr QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Aug 2, 2010 -> 07:11 PM) if Danks ends up at $15 million territory, I could see the White Sox going 5-6 years to make a play for him. That's still a serious hometown discount.
August 3, 201015 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 07:59 AM) That's still a serious hometown discount. His arb figures will be determined by the rest of the season. I have the feeling that he feels comfortable with coop but like Buehrle probably won't be satisfied with less than he's worth. That is why he didn't sign a deal earlier. My guess he gets premium money but not sabathia money. 14 to 18 mil 3 yrs. Danks won't have to go to arbitration. The sox know what they got.

My guess he gets premium money but not sabathia money. 14 to 18 mil 3 yrs. Danks won't have to go to arbitration. The sox know what they got. There's no way he can make that much in his next year of arbitration. He'll likely get $7-8 million in 2011 and $11-13 in his final year. So signing him to a 3/$45-50 million deal basically means you're paying him $25-30 million for his first free agency year. Ain't happening.
