Insane stat for the Twins this season

Featured Replies

Can you imagine if the Twins lose in the first round again this year?

I mean, how many years in a row can they implode?

Thome might really help them this postseason. He couldn't help the Dodgers much just as a pinch hitter.

But he figures to really help the Twinks in the postseason being a veteran big bat.

They did it again, scored 4 runs on 5 hits, Royals had 3 runs on 8 hits. Thats 5 wins in the last 9 games in which the Twins have been outhit (at home) and won the game. I swear to you this is absolutely insane and something you will never see again.

not to mention, one run wins to top it off

Greinke (8-12) pitched his third complete game but fell to 0-4 with an 8.18 ERA against the Twins.

What up with Zack this season?

No one was talking about ozzieball and the whitesox run production, but thanks for your meaningless side comments. Did you forget the whitesox are 2nd in the AL in batting with RISP at .281. Looks like you did.

Some members are very predictable.

The Twins have been very shakey in the late innings. They almost blew it again. Fuentes has a back problem and has only pitched the day he reported to the team when he got the save. There is still hope, but a sweep next week is almost becoming necessary. Any more slip ups before that series and the Sox not taking all 3 probably woud be curtains. Hopefully they can breeze today and vs. KC. Fields, Betemit, Betancourt isn't exactly murderer's row at 3-4-5.

i think the twins problem is a 2 headed monster.

1) managing - gardenhire keeps that team believing in itself, makes the right moves, and doesn't overdo matchups. he also values hustle players, and hustle helps you make the other team make mistakes, leading to lucky wins.

2) farm system - our examples have been sale and beckham, look how much they helped our teams when they joined. young players energize the team and when they play well, they can really help. the twins consistently bring up quality prospects and fill them in spots they need.

they just out manage and out depth our sox, but sometimes talent trumps and we win the division and/or world series. they haven't even gotten to a world series, so ill take our team.

I wonder if Twin fans think Gardenhire is as immortal as the hate Ozzie crowd thinks he's immortal. One could make the case the Twins are over achievers. They get to play a few more games in Oct., that's about it.

The farm system is always an interesting topic. Maybe they are better at scouting. Maybe they draft guys who already have a good grasp on how to play the game.

They are better at winning baseball games than the Sox. The Sox have a habit of losing to teams they should beat.

These are not sustainable things in baseball...neither is their run of like 19 wins in their last 22 games. Thats unheard of this late in the year after guy break down and injuries start to pile up.

Except they basically did the same thing in 2006 and 2009...last year again without Morneau down the stretch.
