Appier works out for the Royals

Featured Replies

He supposedly might start Wednesday against the Sox. I hope he does. The results of an MRI on his elbow will determine if KC signs him or he sits out the rest of the year.

Do we get a chance to claim this guy off waivers before the Royals?  I say we take him to block him from going to the Royals and make him our 5th starter.

We would be on the hook for $14 million through the end of '04 for a guy with an era over 6 1/2 if we claimed him off of waivers. Uuuh, no thanks.

It he clears waivers he is free to sign with anyone. I thought the Cards wanted him. I can't see the Royals paying big bucks for him.

Cards said they werent interested... and besides hes washed up, no use for him in a Sox uni

Didn't he get an unconditional release from his former team--meaning they are eating his salary, period?

Forkit!

I we could get Appier for cheap i'd be all for givin him a shot.

I thought KC picked him up already?

Having seen Wright on Saturday, I say go for it, but not only out of spite of Kansas City.
