At this point, you all now know exactly how it feels to be a Royals fan.

At least you kind of know this going in though.

not really, what do u expect, when your team signs crap fa's and spends no money. the sox actually spent money and have good players but..its not happening

No we don't, because you guys have sucked for a lot longer, and because your ownership/GM situation has been hilarious for over a decade. Teams that won't augment the farm with productive veterans, teams that won't trade prospects to make runs, teams that won't spend money - they're supposed to lose. If you guys had the kind of payroll this Sox team has had you'd have won something already. This s*** is just laughable for us as Sox fans because everything was in place for a realistic division title and deep playoff run.

Look, you take butter, chocolate chips, flour, baking soda, vegetable oil, and eggs, and no matter where you are on the planet, if you mix those ingredients in a bowl you're going to get chocolate chip cookie dough. Somehow if you do the same while wearing a Sox hat, you end up with a turd. There's some weird alchemical transformation that goes on when you take a group of talented players and put them in Sox jerseys and unfortunately our GM and ownership has yet to figure out enough of the formula to buck the trend.

That's actually a really good metaphor.

2 guys buy a car. One gets it at a scrap heap for $400. The other buys a $60,000 Lexus, fully loaded. They both end up on the side of the road with a broken down car, but how they got there is completely different.

Of course the one's they keep that aren't any good, Kenny tries to trade for 'em.

That doesn't make it suck any less.

The crap FA's we can all agree on. But the money part has changed. The Sox are an aging team, players older, decline, and become streaky...
