May 18, 201114 yr I am originally from the southwest burbs but haven't been back since college. I am thinking of moving to Channahon.... anyone live there? Nice place to raise a family?
May 19, 201114 yr I never went to Channahon before, but I'll be going there for Warrior Dash on June 19th. If this thread is still around, I'll post what I've seen of that town. Honestly though, I never heard of Channhon before I registered for Warrior Dash, and looking on the map it looks a little too far from being considered part of the "southwest burbs". May 19, 201114 yr It's a very nice place...but it's a remote location without many job possibilities. So, if you have a job there that you'll never lose, and it pays well enough to not want to move, it's great...otherwise your looking at 2 hour commutes each way, every day.

May 19, 201114 yr My aunt/uncle/cousins live there. It's just southwest of Joliet on 55. As others have said, pretty small town, not much going on. I live north of the city, and it's about 1:10 away.
May 20, 201114 yr Where I'm from, we consider Channahon "basically to Chicago," just as we say about Joliet, any suburb, etc. lol. Anyways, I know my dad lived there before I came along and if you're not learning enough about it I can give him a call for you.
