Kenny Publicly Backing Ozzie, Staff

Featured Replies

Just saw NBC5 and while Kenny said the Sox haven't earned the fans patronage thus far this season, he apparently has no changes in mind.

The anchor even said that he told her he has one of the best managers/coaching staffs around.

So apparently nobody's on the hot seat (contrary to media reports of late) or KW is one of the best liars around. Although I can't quite figure out what his play is here; unless it's that he feels his wagon is inextricably hitched to the success of Ozzie & Co.

Ugh...

They had a winning May after the awful April and have played fairly well on the road this past month. I just don't see the logic in firing Ozzie Guillen and/or coaches when they have shown some flashes of putting things together. Granted, their horrible month may have buried them in the division, and they haven't gained back any significant ground (I believe they are 10 games back in the loss column) over the last month so playing better in May is probably for not, but considering that the weather is starting to finally improve in Chicago, and they supposedly have an offense that can score runs at home, I can't help but think that June should (on paper at least) be a strong month for the White Sox. I think firing a manager or making drastic coaching changes aren't necessarily going to help Adam Dunn (and others) to hit better. These are veteran players for the most part - it's on them now to make up for lost time, and have a strong stretch now at home, and Ozzie's teams have always been competetive - I see no reason to change that right now with the team showing signs of life. Let's get back to .500, and then build from there.

he told her he has one of the best managers/coaching staffs around.

LOL. He can't possibly be that stupid.

Flying Under the Rader. Actually, I think Kenny believes it for now. He's going to see how the team produces for June. I'm also sure JR has some to do with it. It's not the manager, it's the players with this large payroll. Time to trim the fat!
