How can anyone hate the Mayers or O'Donnell move? Mayers will be a depth guy who has experience and is tough. It's 500k people, relax.

 

As for O'Donnell, this is a good move. To get him for 1 year for under 900k is a steal. He'll be Scott's replacement on D.

 

Thr 'Hawks biggest need is size. They were 4th in goals last year. These are great moves considering they've barely spent anything so far and they've added size. Add Cole OR Leino and Talbot and call it a day, Bowman.

So far today picked up a guy that will make sure Scott never plays and Brunette who I have always liked. NIce

The best part of all of these signings? 1-year deals. The Blackhawks struck quickly and smartly. They are so well-run. Now lock up the in-house boys and let's talk 11/12.

Eh, Campoli and Frolik are my main concerns now.

My biggest worry is some other club signs one of them to an offer sheet that is unreasonable. See: Hammer 2010. We actually have flexibility, but it'd be nice to buck the market.

EDIT: That sounds snarky. He'd actually be a great signing akin to the smart moves the Red Wings normally make with vets. I'd be down.

What a day for the 'Hawks.

Happy with the moves today, especially Brunette. Only concern would be that some are a bit old and how much they have left in the tank. Just get Frolik, Campoli, & Sharpie signed and let's get this season started!
