November 16, 201114 yr Once the Red Sox collapsed, the AL vote was over. I do think Manny Acta should have finished higher though. Roenicke was my preseason NL pick, but once the D-Backs went from last to 1st with a new manager, that vote was a given too.

November 20, 201114 yr I was 6 years old in 1988. For those that remember 1988, why did gibson get the nod over strawberry? His numbers are crap comparatively. I thought for sure I'd find out that he was a center fielder when I first saw them. But no. Both played the corner. Edit: probably the batting average. Too bad. Edited November 20, 201114 yr by MAX
November 20, 201114 yr QUOTE (MAX @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 12:27 AM) I was 6 years old in 1988. For those that remember 1988, why did gibson get the nod over strawberry? His numbers are crap comparatively. I thought for sure I'd find out that he was a center fielder when I first saw them. But no. Both played the corner. Edit: probably the batting average. Too bad. I think there was also an element of "How the Hell are the Dodgers in the playoffs" and "He's their other team leader" playing into that too.
