No thread on state of union, but I think Obama may be going clever here. After WWII taxes were extraordinarily high.

So far pretty good start for Obama. Most of the reforms about outsourcing etc are the type of populist ideas that you can never go wrong with. Kind of unfair, but thats why incumbents so rarely lose. I mean who isnt going to clap for "MORE AMERICAN JOBS".

This type of Obama is going to be hard to beat.

Is the trade pieces poli-talk? I feel like both sides of the aisle take tough stances on Asian trade (China) in the run up for election then take a softer stance once in office. I wonder how many claims with the WTO we have already made.

Damn! Graduate or turn 18?

Oh s*** Obama just put higher education on notice.

Uh oh. How's this opening of more offshore oil wells going to go?

More natural gas...T. Boone Pickens just did a somersault.

Who cares hes rolling, hes going to spend more, cut taxes and solve cancer.

AMERICANS ARE TWICE AS FAST AND STRONG

I mean its the lowest brow, but its so damn effective that in an election year you gotta do it.

That education part...damn.

Boom! He's loving my state! We have like 50 of those wind turbines 15 minutes away and one of my company's JVs is heavily involved with solar.

Oh s*** thats right Im making jokes on stage, late night talk show Obama wins the election easy.

I love watching Biden and Boehner's faces. For the record too, I'm a big fan of the VP's tie.

That is a nice tie. Boehner just looks bored the whole time, which is the same as last year.

Obama's good. He included himself in the 1% while Romney has tried to appeal as working class. I'm not a Democrat but that was wise. I'm impressed.

Obama pulls the Im wealthy and understand why I need to pay more taxes card.

98% always beats 2%, its just up to the 98% to realize which side at the end of the day actually is willing to put their money on the line for the US.

On its face, keeping elected officials from holding stock in companies in industries they impact would be incredibly hard to implement.

Also, taking (some) enforcement away from the SEC? I like.

Aren't there already conflict of interest regulations?

Bahaha I loved Biden's reaction after the Lincoln quote. He wasn't sure whether to clap or not.
