Nestor Molina pitched over bad defense in his first inning.

The Rangers 5th best prospect. He's more than just an awesome name.

Interesting. I was only familiar with the Rangers SS prospect with the weird name.

Profar's uber prospect status has undoubtedly overshadowed Odor's potential. Still need more performance data, but he held his own as a 17 year old in A ball last season.

Molina's first start:

4.0 IP 5 H 2 ER 0 BB 3 SO

Anybody else annoyed with the new milb.com? Navigating through the scores is now more difficult and some of the elements aren't working in all my browsers. At least the player search is back.

Yep.

B-Ham loses their opener, 3-2.

Molina; 4 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 3 K

Griffith and S Rodriguez with a scoreless IP each - I guess Griffith is a reliever now

Corey Smith 2-4, 2B, R

Mitchell and KW Jr with the other two hits for B-Ham

Seems hard for me to believe Corey Smith would be taking time away from Jon Gilmore - is Gilmore injured? There is no logical reason to play Smith over a healthy, actual prospect.

Nor has he shown any ability to 1) hit for any power or 2) stay healthy or 3) play adequate defense.

Gilmore can't play third, he's 1B or DH only. Smith can hit and produce.
