No,i heard it on cnn this morning. Based on the Neilson ratings.

From ESPN:

The NFL game on NBC garnered an average of 19.8 million viewers compared to the Democratic National Convention, which was watched by an average of 25.1 million viewers, from 10 to 11:30 p.m. ET across seven networks.

To be fair on this, it was 1 network versus 7 combined.

The most accurate grading scale for the speeches is as follows:

Barack Obama : The usual Obama speech. I thought it was pretty good, he has a lot of stage presence and it is amplified now that he is president. Grade: B

Michele Obama: The speech was terrible and it filled with falsehoods; such as her claim she grew up lower middle class. Her father was politically connected and worked a corporate job that paid, in today's dollars, over 280K a year. Grade: F

Paul Ryan: One of the best convention speeches in a long time. Very accurate and to the point. Grade: A+

Mitt Romney: Not very good. Boring, no details, he looked liked like a rookie (eyes shadily looking around and glassed over a little). Grade: D-

John Kerry had the worst speech. He sounded like Dick Cheney.

Romney was hit for not being specific because people are still waiting for anything resembling an actual policy proposal from him.

You have to vote for him first, then you can see his policies; which can change at any time if the political winds change ever so slightly.

Regardless of what happened the last 4 years, that man can still give a speech. Now I remember why I got so fired up the last time around.

I thought the President's speech was good. Not great or revolutionary, nothing like that, but good. He was at times humble, he was direct, he was specific on some policy goals (obviously interested in how we get to these goals, but that stump wasn't the right avenue for a full explanation), went after his opponent but not in an absolutely bloodthirsty way, and generally laid out what the aims of his next term in office will be. He made some statements that sounded decidedly non-socialist, for people worried about that. "The government can't solve every problem, but every problem can be solved" or something like that.

I like this.

What I enjoyed the most about his speech is it was honest. He believes what he says.

He definitely can, and he is good at debates. Unlike Romney.

In other words, every politician running for office.

I guess I just don't have high enough expectations for candidates in terms of their policy. I'd like to know their ideology rather than some specific plan that everyone knows has zero chance of happening.

The good news is that all this convention BS is finally over, so my nightly Twitter feed won't get taken over by nonsense anymore.

Ted Kennedy had some hilarious comments about Mitt back in 1994.

Mitt on Universal Health Care:

Here is the "multiple choice" from the DNC convention:

Ted was hilarious, give him 2 more weeks and maybe hell vote for me.

But in all seriousness, I really have never seen anyone have less conviction of their beliefs.

A politician honest? Only Honest Abe was honest. Just a little joke but it's weird to see the word "honest" in connection with politicians.

Seriously?? Ryan spewed blatant lies for much of his speech. Such as blaming Obama for the closing of the Janesville auto plant that closed before he was even in office. I guess it's easy to have a good speech when you don't care about the truth.

He was just taking a little harmless liberty with things. Obama did say if the government gave out bailouts, the Janesville plant would be open. The government gave out tons of bailouts and the plant closed. That's all we was trying to say. Obama mislead them.

I wish I could debate Ryan.

Id even let him pick the issues.

That's like me saying I want to play basketball 1 vs 1 against Lebron.

Actually, that'd still be kinda cool

Not really, its more like a college basketball player saying they want to play Obama in basketball.

Ryan is more famous, but if I got my chance, Im pretty sure Id beat him.

definitely.

Youre just going to try and injure him so that the bulls can win right?

Because my plan was to go Ultimate Warrior on Ryan.

I think if I tried to injure Lebron, I'd probably wind up bouncing off of him and landing 15 feet away.

agreed. such an attempt to injure would surely end in catastrophic failure.

Didnt you hear Obama's speech last night, if you dream it you can achieve it. If you cant injure him alone, what about if the govt gave you a baseball bat. And after you beat Lebron we can all cheer, "We did that!".

:)

Maybe not a baseball bat, but a long term steroid regiment might do it...
