The Next Skippers

Featured Replies

They had a players poll to see who they thought would make a great future manager. Jay Bell was number one with 9 votes. Our own Sandy Alomar got 4 votes, and Jose Valentin got 2 votes.

Here's the whole article

Yeah I read that and found it quite interesting. Rocky Biddle suggested for Tony Graffanino and Jose Valentin.

When its all set and done I think we'll see Alomar as a roving minor league instructor. I know he'll be in our organization at some level.

Maybe Sandy should be our skipper next year if we lose Manuel.

That way Robbie will want to sign and I wouldn't mind having Robbie

at a normal price for 2-3 years, would you?

If we deem JM must go, should we hire Sandy?? How bout it?

I'd like to see Sandy get some experience in the minors first. The same with Joe Girardi. I think he'll be a great manager and have said so in posts before. But, he needs to fine tune in the minors first.

I still like the possibility of Wally Backman as Sox manager.

Well, hopefully it won't take that to get Robbie to re-up with us, cause I want him back real bad
