Draft Selection's Signabliltiy

Indicating Quick Signs:

Anderson

Danish

Mitchell

Lowry

Ball

Tough Signs:

Michalczewski

Engel

Rodriguez

I think the sox will make sure they are able to sign Michalczewski and then one of Engel/Rodriguez

As noted by many, we could definitely use a potential impact bat at 3B in the pipeline, even if he's 3 1/2-4-5 years from the majors as a high schooler.

They'd definitely love to sign Michalczewski and Engel, Rodriguez will most likely attend school and raise his draft stock for 2016. I personally believe Michalczewski will be offered around $800,000 while Engel will be offered around $220,000. If Rodriguez is even offered it will be around $800,000 as well. I feel Michalczewski and Engel will sign very late while Rodriguez will be a failed deal on deadline night.

Love to have Michalczewski, our top third base prospects are headlined by Buckner, Ravelo, and Grabe, all real borderline top 30 prospects

I'm hoping the most for Michalczewski, and then getting Engel would be key as well. I don't think Octavio is a realistic opportunity at all. He'd be our Sammy Ayala signing of last year if we can somehow get that done.

I don't think Engel is that big of a get. He has tools, but I think he'd be much better served going back to school for another year.

Michalczewski would need third round money while Rodriguez would want up to second round money, paying both are unrealistic

Right, which is why I said Octavio would be nearly impossible.

Ravelo hasn't been playing 3B this year, he's been at 1B. And Buckner is a utility guy, he's played only a few games at third. The only "prospect" a third in the entire system is Grabe, and he's on the very fringe, like somewhere 30-40 in the system.

Speaking of Ayala can any of our advanced guys update what his deal is? I know he had pretty marginal production in Bristol last year but haven't heard of him since. Any idea of his direction?

He's been in AZ Extended ST. My guess is he's back in rookie ball again, possibly repeating Bristol. He's only 18, he's got time. And Barraza is out for the year, so they can put Ayala at whichever affiliate they want to, and still have room for the drafted catchera (Blount, Wimmer) to battle it out at the other rookie affiliate. Typically, the Sox put the college guys at GF, and the younger guys at Bristol.
