June 12, 201312 yr No. There's no room on the MLB roster, his OPS outside of last year is about .640, and he's going to end up on his 4th different team this year. There's literally no point in adding him.
June 12, 201312 yr The last thing we need is another infielder with no power. Sox are getting a shocking low number of home runs from their 2b, SS and 3b.
June 12, 201312 yr QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 12, 2013 -> 04:07 PM) Angels just DFA'd him. Still probably better than what we have. Gillaspie has done well with the glove. Maybe he coud hit a few more homers or at least doubles, but his average isn't bad
June 12, 201312 yr QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 12, 2013 -> 02:43 PM) Gillaspie has done well with the glove. Maybe he coud hit a few more homers or at least doubles, but his average isn't bad He seems like he is just starting to come out of a real bad slump. He had something like a 3 for 40 stretch where if you watched him, he'd just stopped making good contact like he was earlier in the year. That's taking a toll on his numbers right now. Hopefully he drags his way out of this slump and learns a few things from it.

If I am correctly remembering Gillaspie had no real major league experience since he was blocked in SF by Panda Bear. First taste of the bigs. I like his glove though
