Ellersby?

Yes, Jack Ellersby. You know the CF. :)

I had a brain fart. I golf with a guy whose last name is Ellersby. Who knows, maybe he can play CF also.

I have to tell you -- I'm starting to get excited for 2014. Outside of massive holes at 3B, 1B, and C, we're in pretty good shape. Like "we can compete with the Tigers" shape.

Since we're talking about third basemen, if, at the beginning of the season, you had told me that Morel would play the entire year injury-free and hit only .260ish with minimal power numbers at Charlotte, I would have bet the house against it. What happened? More importantly, does he figure into Sox plans for 2014? He might be released, since he is on the 40 man. Or is his back still a problem?

He was never very good. You're seeing his true level of ability.

Why would the offensively challenged Giants look to trade Sandoval?

Why not? De Aza would be an offensive upgrade in the OF. As much as they have struggled this year, I would think they would look at any trade possibilities.
