They changed the baseballs prior to this year and it lead to huge offense/HR numbers. Someone picked the wrong prototype for the new ball or something and the ball traveled much better. I might be messing up the details but the baseballs were modified incorrectly. Wladimir Balentin hit an obscene number of HRs this year due to the balls.

So theyve been screwing with the balls then for 2 of the last 3 years. Sounds obscene:P
