God bless him and his family.

I can't imagine a more appropriate poster making this thread.

Prostate cancer is what killed my dad at age 66.

This is my public service announcement: Once you reach age 50, insist to your doctor that you have your PSA level included every time you have bloodwork (cholestorol, blood sugar, etc.) done and do it at least every 6 months.

If you have a father, grandfather, uncle, or great uncle who has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, start getting your PSA level checked at age 40.

Prayers and good thoughts for Ed and his family. I remember when he played and it was him and Duane Josephson behind the plate for the Sox

I thought they were a great tandem. I've always missed the Sox having a righty lefty hitting tandem like them. Equally sharing the most demanding physical position while combining for a .300 average.

Check Herrmann's power numbers at Comiskey.

hit 19 one season there in a big-time pitchers park where it was 352 feet down the lines.

Ed was especially good at blocking the plate. Anyone recall the Big White Machine? I seem to recall that he either made it or liked tinkering with it or something like that. I loved those early 70's White Sox and Ed Herrmann was a big part of that team. R. I. P.

RIP Hermy! I sure do remember that GINORMOUS mitt he used to use to catch Wilbur Wood.

Who can forget the collision at the plate with Bert Campanaris?
