Frank 2nd in AL in HRs!

Featured Replies

whitesox247 and I co-wrote this and I felt like pulling it up (with a few changes) in honor of Frank's being on 2nd in the home run race with his blast last night that enabled the victory.

Two tailgaters go round the outside,

Round the outside, round the outside

Guess whos back, back again

Hurt is back

Tell a friend

Guess who's back,

guess who's back,

guess who's back,

guess who's back

guess who's back,

guess who's back,

guess who's back!

He created a monster, cuz nobody wants

To see Frank no more

They want Hurt on chopped liver

Well if you want Hurt, then this is what he'll give ya....

50 home runs and an MVP sticker

Some concourse shots that'll jump start your heart quicker

than a shock when you get rocked at U.S. Cellular

by the rest of the Sox who will co-operatin'

When Frank's jockin' the Cell and the Sox operatin' (hey!!)

You waited this long, now stop debatin'

Cause Frank's back, Twins and KC now start fadin'

I know that you got a job Mariotti

but our 2003 Sox will be complicating

So the Cubune Corp. won't let Frank be

or let Frank be he, so let me see

They try to shut us down in the MLB

But Frank will lead us, in our victories.

CRAFTY

Frank has been AMAZING in the power department!

The BA is creeping up there, too.

KUDOS to Frank for getting his swing back to that SCARY level he had earlier in his career!

:headbang Frank Thomas

KEEP IT UP!!!!

I know we have to focus on the present, but, anybody else have in the back of their mind that Frank can be a free agent at the end of the year if he chooses? Ya gotta know someone would pony up more than 8 million he's guaranteed from the Sox, now that he's back to oh my god scary Frank.

Seattle could be an interesting spot for him; I think Oleurud is a FA; and Edgar is retiring. The Dodgers desperately need offense and they probally don't want Mcgriff. So my teams that are interested are the Sox,Mariners, Dodgers

I will be the first to admit, I didn't think the old man had it in him anymore. I thought it was a big mistake to go out and decide to be a power hitter, but it really seemed to have focused him in on the prize, and he has been invaluable for the last month or month and a half.

Good job, CWSOX

If Frank wants out, he can get out. Personally, I don't think he wants out. I think he may even exercise his own option of $6 mill. Had we lost him and if we lose him, it could end up being one of the biggest mistakes we make.

No one will pay Frank more than $6mil a year. The economics of baseball are totally different now. Players aren't going to get that kind of cash for a while, if ever again.

Sounds fine to me.

And if Frank doesn't get $6 mill, we'll probably be able to get Robby back quite cheaply too, as well as Jose.

We could realistically keep this team together and then add a piece or two as well in the offseason.

If there is an old fashioned romance in this game Frank will retire as a White Sox. No one has put more fannies in the Sox seats than Frank. While I wish he had the PR gift that Sammy, Walter, MJ, and other Chicago stars have had for this generation he is Mr. White Sox. I believe he could have slugged 600 home runs if he had been more selfish earlier in his career. Instead he is as complete a hitter as you could find and at his best umpires would hesitate to second guess him on balls and strikes.

:cheers

I believe that if Frank finishes with 45 homers and 100 plus RBIs someone will offer him much more than 6-8 million. Baltimore has sniffed around him before, and the Yankees could use a little offense. I hope he stays, but I won't be shocked to see a few headlines in November about Frank's future.

Perhaps the Sox need Bruce Levine to say that many more Sox can't hit major league pitching anymore. :nono
