August 31, 200322 yr Joe's been up and down with the team since 2000 I think. He is technically not a rookie but this is effectively a rookie season since he has never started a year in the bigs.

Meaning that he is third in all time August batting avg. ? Because the way I see it is that it is obvious that it's among active players if he is in the league leaders.
