September 2, 200322 yr I can't really name any source or anything, but it seems to me that the media is starting to talk about Loaiza more. I say he easily wins it if things stay they way they are right now.

Hudson is much more deserving of the Cy Young than Moyer. His ERA is over a run better (as is Loaiza's), he has more quality starts, a better BAA, and he has a higher winning percentage than Moyer does. In my opinion there are only two contenders in the race for the Cy Young, Hudson and Loaiza. This could change greatly in the next month however. My list 1. Loaiza 2. Hudson 3. Mussina 4. Halladay 5. Martinez
September 2, 200322 yr well the a's have the best september record each year...i think moyer would deserve it because of his performance and his age but i would give my vote to loaiza..he has been a leader in all the important categories..
September 2, 200322 yr Moyer doesn't even deserve to be mentioned with the other 3. He has more walks, less IP, less K's, and a higher ERA than all of them. He and Halliday both are only on the list because their teams have scored a ton of runs for them. Really the race should be between Hudson and Loiaza.
September 2, 200322 yr Gammons is voting for Hudson on ESPN on the strength of 5 blown saves in Hudson started games. But what about Loaiza's 2 1-0 losses to the Tigers?? Esteban should be 20-4 already. Oakland is a media darling when it comes to awards (Tejada had no business winning MVP over A-Rod last year when A-Rod was a better player IN ALL CATEGORIES and played the same position better -- before him Giambi got the not in 2000 MVP even though Frank and the Sox were better), but Esteban is going to win.
September 2, 200322 yr The more the media annotes E-Lo the Cy Young the more I think he's gonna get hosed. A playoff spot and 20 wins should be enough.
September 2, 200322 yr 20 wins get Loaiza the Cy Young. Nobody else has the combination of ERA and wins like he does.
September 2, 200322 yr I think Halladay should get some consideration too. He has 18 wins and hes pitch 224 innings. Thats gotta be tough. But that said, I think and hope for Loaiza to win...
