July 24, 201411 yr Author Just saw, Rienzo headed back to Chicago to replace Putnam (DL). That's why Zaleski is starting.
July 24, 201411 yr Anyone know anything about Leonardo De LA Cruz pitching for DSL? I could not find anything as far as scouting goes. Kid walks a lot of batters but his strikeout numbers are impressive. Oh, and he's a lefty! Edited July 25, 201411 yr by StRoostifer
July 25, 201411 yr Some pretty rough bullpen work in the minors. Barons giving up 5 in the 9th. Beck - 7 IP, 4H, 0 Runs, 1K Edited July 25, 201411 yr by GreenSox
July 25, 201411 yr This write-up on Cleuluis from MiLB a few weeks back sums him up nicely. White Sox SS Cleuluis Rondon, Class A Advanced Winston-Salem: 2-for-4, HR, 3B, 3 RBI, 2 R, K — Rondon might be the best defensive shortstop in the Minors. His hands are so good, his teammates call him simply “Los Manos,” and his athleticism and poise draw rave reviews in the field. Offensively, the switch-hitter isn’t nearly so polished. He won’t have to hit much to justify a big league spot thanks to his glove, but he still may not hit even that much. If he can put anything together offensively, though, Rondon could rocket up prospect lists and force his way into Chicago’s plans. http://milbprospective.mlblogs.com/2014/07...ames-of-july-7/
July 25, 201411 yr QUOTE (oldsox @ Jul 25, 2014 -> 11:47 AM) Cody Winiarski has been doing a Mitchell Boggs impersonation. I actually was holding some hope Cody would be a closer candidate eventually. He came back from injury and had a nice year last year, looked good in ST and seemed to even start out ok at Birm. Then all hell broke loose.
