August 1, 201411 yr He was just designated for assignment by the Indians. Had a pretty good year last year but has struggled this year. Sox do have an open spot on their 40 man roster now. August 1, 201411 yr There's not a lot to get excited about here. Minor league numbers are fairly pedestrian and he's only at 92 with his fastball. I wouldn't be upset either way.
August 1, 201411 yr Ryan Webb and Evan Scribner DFA'd as well. Pretty good numbers, I'm a little surprised that these were the players picked to make room for whoever the team acquired.

August 1, 201411 yr The guy with the 5.91 ERA's probably better than the guy with the 4.50 ERA at this point, and is certainly better than the guy with the 4.29 ERA.
