December 31, 201411 yr Erisbel Arruebarrena was just dfa by the Dodgers. should the sox be interested???
December 31, 201411 yr Depends on price. No to a trade, if he hits the open market and can be had at low cost, perhaps. I think he's still owed like $20M on his current contract.
December 31, 201411 yr I don't even care about his glove, but his bat has been worse than Leury Garcia's to this point.
December 31, 201411 yr QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 31, 2014 -> 01:04 PM) I don't even care about his glove, but his bat has been worse than Leury Garcia's to this point. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I can hit better than this guy.
December 31, 201411 yr That's...weird? Committed $25 million to him last February, he's 24 years old. Great glove, supposedly. He hit really well in AAA, got in a fight, then was sent to AA and couldn't hit a lick after that. Very odd. Is this revocable waivers? I don't remember how that works in the offseason. They may just be trying to make space on their roster based on the assumption that nobody will want to pay him. They could just pull him back if somebody does claim him.
December 31, 201411 yr Author QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 31, 2014 -> 07:39 PM) Too much money for what looks like a flyer prospect at this point. well he is a glove only kind of a player who may play above avg defense at SS. his bat is really bad, can he improve, only the baseball gods and the baseball experts can tell. dodgers paid 7.5 mil in a signing bonus and last yr 3 mil in salary of a 4 or 5 yr contract i think. scouting rpt, play with Jose A and Puig as a youngster. http://www.baseballamerica.com/internation...na-leaves-cuba/ another scouting rpt. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1957949...l-arruebarruena
December 31, 201411 yr Author QUOTE (Reddy @ Dec 31, 2014 -> 11:51 PM) can't say his name. nothx same here.
January 2, 201511 yr Author QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 2, 2015 -> 11:03 PM) quick shot at phonetic pronunciation: air-iss-bel uh-rue-buh-ray-nuh lol .... crap, you asking me to try to pronounce that, i can barely spell were and wear.
January 4, 201511 yr Author QUOTE (Blackout Friday @ Jan 4, 2015 -> 09:54 AM) I would trade Sale for him simply to hear Melton pronounce his name during ST. welcome to the board. i know you mention trading Sale for this joke of hearing Melton saying his name, but really Sale???
January 4, 201511 yr QUOTE (Blackout Friday @ Jan 4, 2015 -> 04:54 AM) I would trade Sale for him simply to hear Melton pronounce his name during ST. Haha, "But it was a damn good post" indeed.
January 5, 201511 yr QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 4, 2015 -> 08:18 AM) welcome to the board. i know you mention trading Sale for this joke of hearing Melton saying his name, but really Sale??? I know, unrealistic. Throw in Abreu. Jokes aside I don't think depth at SS is a pressing issue. He's an interesting name based on how much the Dodgers invested in him (and the aforementioned Melton pronunciation) but I think there are more immediate needs than what he can potentially provide.
