I think today is the White Sox episode. May want to record this when it re-airs in a couple hours. The intro to the show was all White Sox related.

A god-awful show on MLB Network hosted by Kevin Millar and Chris Rose.

MLB Network needs to have their former players do more homework. Kevin Millar and Harold Reynolds really don't know what is going on.

 

Those two are fun and have the gift of gab but they arent the smartest of baseball people. From a baseball perspective that can be a problem.

The only reason to ever watch an episode; White Sox episode.

I actually really enjoy the show. I watch it probably 3 times a week. I learn almost nothing, but it's nice to have on when I'm making lunch and I can laugh at how stupid Kevin Millar is. Chris Rose knows a decent amount, but the show really evens out watching a numbers and info heavy show like MLB Now. I watch and enjoy both.

 

I HATE High Heat though. Russo is probably the most knowledgable baseball person at MLB Network when it comes to trivia and remembering stats and standings, but my god he is so so so so so bad when it comes to analyzing players. I remember for a while last season he was saying Jose Abreu was the best player in baseball. I get that it was fun for us Sox fans to hear, but the intelligent guests he had on obviously countered that statement with Mike Trout, and he still said he'd take Abreu over Trout.

 

And of course he thought Derek Jeter was a terrific fielder and slobbed on his knob, so that's another reason to dislike him.

High Heat is one of the worst shows in sports television when Russo is on. (Like many of the old-school types who got wowed by The Triple Crown during the MVP debate of 2012, he bashes Trout for no reason. He once said "Trout is a nice little player. He's no DiMaggio.")

 

When Kenny subs in for him like he did Monday, it's an entirely different show. I find it hilarious that he's the regular stand-in, because he makes the show completely different and invites on guys who actually analyze baseball. It's great for Kenny to have a show where he doesn't have to constantly defend analytics. It's what made Clubhouse Confidential (RIP) a great show. MLB Now pales in comparison. It's better than the original Kenny/Reynolds format, but there's still too many cheap shots/clueless former players on there.

Well, I say he is probably the most knowledgable about trivial baseball facts/stats because I hate-watched a segment of High Heat where they had some famous baseball historian on to challenge Russo in a baseball trivia competition, and Russo destroyed the guy. Russo was able to name every losing and team of the World Series in the 80's and each of their managers, in order, in about 30 seconds. It was pretty incredible. He also named like every rookie of the year winner the Dodgers had.
