10 over-the-air TV stations:

Chicago WGN-TV, Channel 9 (The CW)

Rockford WREX, Channel 13-3 (Me TV)

Quad Cities WQAD-TV Moline, Channel 8-3 (my network TV)

Cedar Rapids / Waterloo / Iowa City KCRG-TV Cedar Rapids, Channel 9-3 (Antenna TV)

Des Moines KCWI-TV Ames, Channel 23 (The CW) / simulcast on KDMI Des Moines, Channel 19 (displays as 23-2) (The CW)

Peoria / Bloomington, IL WAOE Peoria, Channel 59 (my network TV)

South Bend WSJV Elkhart, IN, Channel 28-2 (H&I Heroes & Icons) *

Fort Wayne WANE-TV, Channel 15-2 (Antenna TV) *

Marion, IN WNDY-TV Marion / Indianapolis, Channel 23-3 (The CW) (WISH-TV simulcast) *

Indianapolis WISH-TV, Channel 8 (The CW) *

The game will be the first of 12 games to be aired this season in Indianapolis, all on Sunday afternoons.

Also, MLB Network will carry the game in some parts of the country. At the same time, MLB Network is also airing L.A. Dodgers at St. Louis Cardinals, so that game will be shown instead in other parts of the country. I think some areas will get neither game because the White Sox and Cardinals zones overlap at some locations.

Does anybody know if MLB Network will use their own announcers, or does MLB Network use the feed of one of the 2 teams (White Sox or Astros)?

Do you think that the White Sox website is better?

On the above link, they don't indicate what games the TV stations are airing. The channel numbers / sub-channel numbers are not listed. The information is incomplete, and not accurate in some cases. This above link was only added to the Sox website around 1 month ago. Prior to that, there was no mention anywhere on the Sox website regarding over-the-air TV stations, located outside Chicago but within the White Sox exclusive broadcast territory. Also last season, there was no listing at all on the Sox website regarding what TV stations were airing the 25 WCIU-TV games outside Chicago.

Not every TV station airs all 55 games. But I know what games are airing on each station respectively. For example, the first White Sox game airing on an Indianapolis TV station in many years was last Sunday.

After Tribune Broadcasting announced that WGN America would no longer air any sports or news, some fans were concerned as to where they could receive the 55 over-the-air games. Especially fans located within the Sox territory, who are blacked out of MLB.tv or MLB Extra Innings. My information is also useful to fans who do not have cable or satellite TV. Just last month, I spoke to a fan at U.S. Cellular Field. He said that he could afford cable anymore, but he watches every Sox game available on free TV in HD.

If anyone Googles 'white sox tv stations', as you suggest, you will find out that a complete summary all in one place does not exist except for right here. The best information that I could find on the internet is from WGN Sports. But the link also does not show what games each TV station will be airing.

There are people who actually use these posts. No need to crap on someone else's work.

They're really informative. I check them as I live close to Des Moines and it's the easiest way, really, to see which of the WGN games are picked up.

Maybe just make the one thread and update it as games come along?

why does it matter, there is one thread, it is up to posters to come to that thread or not. if it bothers posters that much, do not come it.

sheesh

plain and simple.
