Question about the UD

Featured Replies

depends what you are used to

I can track everything perfectly in the upper deck

when I sit in the outfield or anywhere down below it takes me several innings to get oriented

it is not the upper deck that throws your perspective off, it is merely what are you used to

in actuallity - unless I ever inherit enough money to buy club level - I vastly prefer the UD to down below and the upper deck is my seating of choice

It takes some time to get use to the angles and views. I was up there 2wice and each time I looked like a dumbass. I was screaming "Stay in here! Oh s***, NO!" on pop-ups and "Robbies got it!" on HR's. People were looking at me like "What the f***? Is he high?"

Little hint here. Don't watch the ball in flight, watch the fielders. They'll tell you the real story. That having been said, I attended a couple of games in May, and being in the bleachers challenged that theory because you can't see the outfielder in front of you at times. So, I misjudged a couple myself. s*** happens.

for an admitted republican (and isn't admitting that like admitting you are a drug addict?) you say some very wise things about baseball!

How fitting.. the blind leading the blind.

if you sit in cw's seats the view is pretty good..... at least you can see the ball coming over the plate from up there..... i myself dont like the heights thing so i dont wander up there often ......its all a mater of what you can handle or prefer.....

My brother can tell you all about being scared of heights. He was 10 (I think it was actually his 10th b-day when we went) the first time he went to the 'New' Comiskey and when he came out of the tunnel and started to go up the steps, he made the mistake of stopping to turn around and look at the field. He had a full blown panic attack and refused to budge - he was convinced that he was going to fall to the lower deck. He begged my aunt for her car keys and kept telling her that he would go listen to the game in the car and wait for them there. We eventually got him to his seat and after he got used to it he was fine.

We still joke about it and I jab at his back while he walks done the stairs telling him not to fall or he'll go over the edge. Now that he is 22 he loves the upperdeck, but won't look at the field while walking down the stairs! :bang

It's a little weird at first because the fly balls are below your sight.

Odd to look down at flyballs.

They are NOT all that bad of seats, though - I was 11 rows up in section 556 for the ASG and was pleasantly surprised by the view. I was expecting the worst and it was a good seat and a great time.

Enjoy the game!

The first time you sat in the UD - did you have trouble judging where popups were going or how well balls were hit into the outfield? That was a little different for me, and I always sat in the UD in the real Comiskey Park.

Absolutely. But, I'm used to it now.
