With all the current focus on a potential high profile addition of a big bat/outfielder, are the Sox neglecting the obvious need for a RHP in the starting rotation? Sure EJ looked pretty good in the final month of 2015, but it's a different deal when the games are meaningful. Who can the Sox try to land to bolster the rotation? I am intrigued by Tim Lincecum, who is coming off surgery and supposed to throw for teams in early 2016. Could he be a good fit at the right price?

I agree that'd it be nice to have one more SP for depth, but we also really need to see what we have in EJ. Any veteran SP is likely only going to sign if he's guaranteed a spot in the rotation, and I don't want to kick out EJ until he proves he doesn't belong.

I think our pitching is here already. Maybe we make a depth move, but nothing of significance. The Sox seem to be set to go with Sale/Q/Rodon/EJ/Danks, but also spent $1.5 million to bring Turner back, who could challenge EJ for the 5th slot. That still leaves guys like Carroll and Beck, with maybe a guy like Aumont on the outside edge if they decide to start him again.

 

It wouldn't shock me if the team brings in another lottery ticket, or injury project, but I don't expect to see anything of significance. Maybe a guy like Gavin Floyd on a MiLB deal, with some major league incentives?

Had no idea Lincecum was a FA, if he's gonna be back mid-season I think we owe him a look, CWS desperately needs a RHS, especially if Johnson doesn't pan out or god forbid an injury to a lefty, hopefully Fulmer will be ready to go in August/September

Depending on his asking price, I'd like to see the Sox pick up Beachy for some added depth and chance to compete for a spot in the rotation. Not sure what Beachy is looking for as far as money or if he's insisting on a major league contract or a starting rotation spot in the rotation. Would like to use him as a long reliever in '16 to build up his innings and give the Sox another arm to compete for the open spot when Danks goes to FA after '16.
