February 1, 201610 yr QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 30, 2016 -> 09:44 PM) Looks like it was the right time to sell on Montas. A preseason ranking tells me nothing about the right time to sell on Montas. The key is going to be his production.
February 1, 201610 yr QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 1, 2016 -> 02:58 PM) A preseason ranking tells me nothing about the right time to sell on Montas. The key is going to be his production. With Montas it is all about health.
February 1, 201610 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 1, 2016 -> 03:00 PM) With Montas it is all about health. I think that's second. First is command, which he still lacks severely.
February 1, 201610 yr QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 1, 2016 -> 03:40 PM) I think that's second. First is command, which he still lacks severely. His command is going to come from being healthy and getting regular reps. Because of his health his career highs are 111 and 112 IP. That puts him further behind than he could have been.

He gets gun-happy, and I think part of the problem is in his head. He's had more innings than a lot of relievers going to the majors, though not starters.
February 1, 201610 yr QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 1, 2016 -> 04:10 PM) They are related, but his command isn't just a health thing. He gets gun-happy, and I think part of the problem is in his head. He's had more innings than a lot of relievers going to the majors, though not starters. I don't doubt that. But the way to overcome that sort of stuff is reps. You don't get reps on the DL.
