February 3, 201610 yr This year will hopefully be the inaugural season of the Soxtalk Legends Dynasty League. We tried last year but started way too late to get enough people to join. I have sent messages to those who were interested last year but even if they all join we still need a lot more people. We are looking for between 8 and 14 members who are in the league for the long haul. This will be an entirely free league run through ESPN in conjuction with this thread. If you have any family members or friends that would like to join that is great. To join please post a message in this thread and include a playing card (to determine the draft order) as well as send me a PM with your email address. Information about the league Site: ESPN Type: Keeper League Keepers: TBD (I am thinking 5 some have suggested 10 or 15 ) Draft Style: Live Snake Draft or an OFFLINE DRAFT done in this thread or another (gotta get enough people to join and quick to do this option) Draft Date: TBD Draft Order: Everyone will pick a playing card. I will then draw through the deck until everyone's card has been picked and record the order that they were drawn. I will repeat this 5 times and then average everyone's draft positions. The lowest average will have the number 1 pick then the next lowest will have the number 2 pick and so forth. Roster: TBD Milb Roster TBD Trading Picks: Allowed Scoring: Head to Head (undertermined, probably category) Playoffs: Half of the league will make the playoffs Winner: possibly a very small cash prize of $5- $10 and they will receive bragging rights until the next season and a little banner image to display on their signature League Updates: I am planning on putting together a Draft Recap, Preseason Power Rankings, weekly Power Rankings, and weekly recaps Again to join post in this thread and include a playing card. Also send me a PM with your email address so when I create the league I can send you the invite. Also, any and all suggestions on the league setup and league rules, etc are welcomed. February 5, 201610 yr I'm really happy to see that we have 6 members already! Preferably, I'd like to get as least 2 more people for a total of 8, but I suppose 6 people is enough if it came down to it. It's not a big deal, but I also think it would be nice if each of us put $5 or $10 upfront to send to the winner after each season. I feel like a money prize would be a nice reward and would keep more people interested.
February 5, 201610 yr I'm down for this... Six of Clubs Just a few of my personal preferences since things are TBD right now. I love head to head category scoring, but a 5x5, 6x6 tops, anything more gets to be too many things to go for. And with the rosters, I'm not big on enormous starting line-ups, obviously at least one of each position and maybe 1 utility. Same goes for pitchers, four or five starters, and maybe 2 reliever spots, maybe an either/or pitcher spot as well. Those are just a few of my preferences, but definitely up for whatever.

Yeah probably this one (I also have a free forum that I created a while back that I'm not using that we could use), either in this thread or I can start another one. February 5, 201610 yr Ideally, it would be nice to get 1 more team so that we have 8 total, but this thing is filling up fast. I'd love to do the draft offline.

I am in a couple dynasty leagues and we use proboards which is free to set up and works great. I would be in this league if we can at the very least get 12 owners. Dynasty leagues are a lot more fun with more owners. The one I am in is a 20 team league with full MILB rosters and it is a lot of fun. Edited February 5, 201610 yr by BigHurt3515
February 5, 201610 yr I also would enjoy better with more keepers (at least 10). I get the point of less keepers, but I build a solid team and can only keep a small portion, I don't know. I like being able to keep at least 10-15 guys. Again, just some discussion around the settings.

If everyone will be pretty active and online fairly often I would love to do this idea. If everyone likes this idea I will set up a free forum where we can have the draft and discuss the league etc. On a side note, I think the idea of everyone putting $5 in a "pot" to send the winner is a great idea. I will not make it mandatory though. The league will remain free with a "pot" on the side. The "pot" will go to the person who finishes the highest out of those who put into the "pot". Ideally I'd like at least 3 more people (not counting BigHurt3515).

One of the pros for having our own board would be that we can make multiple threads that keep everything separate (like signups, league info, "the money pot", trades, MILB, recaps, etc). Mostly it would just keep things cleaner and more organized. I would prefer to have our own board (I really like this idea) but i am for either option.

ESPN is still under maintenance but hopefully it will be back up and running soon.
