September 19, 200322 yr Do you think we will bash the Royals? We're due to start winning again (not that it will matter in regards to winning the division). Will we sweep the Royals and place second or do you think the Royals will paste us and the stadium will be full of boos all weekend?? I'm thinking the way this season has gone, we may actually sweep KC (while Minnie is also sweeping whomever they play). Do you agree the fans will get ugly a.) when the sox take the field to start Friday's game and b.) if the Royals kick our ass?
September 19, 200322 yr Do you agree the fans will get ugly a.) when the sox take the field to start Friday's game and b.) if the Royals kick our ass? I hope both. Sox fans should literally "shake" USCF with boos Friday night. Send a message to JR, KW, JM, and the stiffs when they take the field. Hit them with more boos when they fall behind and swing for the fences every AB. Boo..... Boo..... BOO! :fyou
September 19, 200322 yr Coming 3rd would be the ultimate insult for the team. Just can't allow it to happen, coming 2nd's bad enough.

September 19, 200322 yr WHats the difference? EIther you win the division or you do not...... exactly...... I feel this series with KC is ripe for another William Ligue memory. well we know he wont be at any games.. his probation collar wont let him out of the house past dark.... .........
September 19, 200322 yr I think we're just better than KC, and we'll take 2 of 3. I hope Manuel gets his ass booed like it was the All Star game. Second place does matter to the players - they get a little more money for a second place finish.
September 19, 200322 yr they get a little more money for a second place finish. There should be no incentive for being first loser. That includes WildCard's. Only incentive's paid out should be for Division Champion.

September 19, 200322 yr Another reason that the players union has way too much power... exactly.... reward for mediocre play.. f*** that .. i dont get a raise if i do a mediocre job at work why in the hell should they get a bonus for mediocre playing when they only work 162 days out of 365 days a year... :fyou em they deserve no money.........
September 19, 200322 yr finish third or fourth better draft pick and with what happened this year giving away all our minor guys were gonna need those draft picks.. hell why didnt they just fold an hold hands with the tigers in last........

I'm sure we can move up a few places if we tank it the rest of the way. Let's do it.

September 19, 200322 yr It's always better to finish on a high note. We are 80-72. The scrubs are 82-70. Pride is on the line. Go all out to try & finish out of the scrubs. WIN EM ALL!

The records are meaningless to me if they finish out of the playoffs. We beat them 4 of 6 this season, that's good enough for me.
September 19, 200322 yr We'll get plenty of draft picks as it is. I know RPS brought this up shortly after the trade deadline, and Killa pointed it out again not that long ago....but what they are doing is rebuilding in a less obvious way. What they are doing is going with a win-win situation, in a sense. What they will do is offer arb to guys like Colon, Everett, probably Alomar, (if neither picks up their option), possibly Frank, Jose...etc. We could end up with 5-10 more draft picks just this offseason due to them offering arbitration and then having those players decline it and sign with another team. If they accept arbitration, we get the guys next year.

For starters, that's not a bad idea. And secondly, had you seen the second episode of Playmakers(that football show on ESPN), there was a scene like EXACTLY the same between the owner on that show and the star running back. I mean I saw it and I instantly thought of that show.
