We should use this type of lineup often

Featured Replies

By "this type of lineup", I mean not wasting the DH spot on someone like Garcia or Coats and rather have Saladino play 3B, Frazier shift to 1B, and Abreu to DH, while keeping Anderson/Lawrie as the DP combo. I feel like Saladino's vastly offense plus his stellar defense surely helps the club in multiple ways, while eliminating DH at-bats (or, should I say, strikeouts) from Garcia and Coats and giving them to Abreu is obviously beneficial.

Of course, a lot of this can change if Davidson is in fact called up, but for the time being, I'm a big fan of the Saladino/Anderson/Lawrie/Frazier infield with Abreu at DH.

100% thumbs up to this.

To make this a regular thing, though, they'd need to bring up another infielder, and send down Coats/Sands..forget which one is in Chicago and which is in Charlotte.

Davidson is coming tomorrow. I'd bring up Leury and send down Avisail as well.

Somebody brought this idea up last week at some point, can't remember who. But we agreed we needed another INF on the roster in order to actually make it up since there would be no back up INF if someone got tossed or injured

I'm pretty sure I was that person, but I didn't feel like I had enough statistical backing at the time to actually make it a thread. Anyway, with Davidson on the way, he could fill in at 3rd if there was an injury, but that's not enough. L. Garcia could realistically be called up over the next couple months. Regardless, the likelihood of one of Frazier/Anderson/Lawrie exiting a game due to injury/ejection is extremely slim, but I do understand the desire to have insurance just in case.

Ok, Davidson's gone now so I am back on this idea. We can do this easily by calling up Leury to be backup infielder in case of an injury.

Same here. I called for it early in yesterday's game thread. Good call on this. I think we should do it
