    Tony La Russa

One of my all-time favorite sox teams is the 83 white sox, makes me feel old. If it was not that goof messing up on the base path the sox would won and Hoyt pitching next game they win and are world series bound ughhhhhhh. I am one of Tony's fan . If this was ten years I would say yes. I have a lot of reservations if this is a real option. One he has not managed in 9 years-the game has changed. His age is my real concern would he up with all the travel this year and beyond? This team has a good 5 year window and I do not want a lot of with the manager spot. My honest question is tony a viable option? My first pick I think is Hinch .My heart is with Tony but common sense says no.
  2. I am not trying to do a 20/20 thing but at the time I was stunned . i know the last game Dunning was not as good but give the chance -he never had a chance to get some type of tempo-maybe he pitches out of the jam there were two outs. I agree with Frank Thomas our manager gave off bad vibe that he thought that they could not score and would lose. The way he was handling the pitching staff even when the team had a 3-0 lead I had a bad feeling. I can't recall a whole bull pen being at high alert after 15 pitches-I know it was all hands on deck. Dunning did have some good games. Lets say argument sakes and the sox tie the game at 6--------and it goes 11 12 1 3 innings who is left to pitch? I was on the fence about this manager but this whole series was a tipping point for me. This sox team should have won this series. I want a new Manager but sox past history says he will stay.

    Managerial Candidates List

Bruce Bochy might be taking a run at the job-you know the sox are being well thought about when all these are hoping into the fray.I dont want to see Konerko, AJ , Baines, Rains or any other former sox player being named the manager.

The sox are finally thankfully in great shape for the most part, why would he fire Hann? I think he wants to give his friend a good shot at the brass ring. Jerry is 84 so he thinks 76 is young. If they did La Russa for a year or to teach a very good and upcoming young manager maybe I could live with that, but I think I would rather go with HInch

not bad idea but I dont think thats what jerry had in mind
  8. I was wondering if Vaugh can he play right field? Has he played in the outfield ever? If the best thing happens next year and he makes the team the DH spot would be a bad idea. The current first basemen really doe not not like being a DH. I think he does a good job at first base. It will be interesting to see how that hopefully shakes out next spring training and regular season
  9. Is this a signal that Jerry has given up control of the team? Jerry in the past was too loyal. This sounds as if someone else has their hands on the wheel 1000 percent. What does that mean for the off season if there has been change in control? Is Hahn now in complete control or a combination of him and Kenny in control?

Why was Dunning pulled after 15 pitches?

Yes the sox did have a 3-0 lead but I never felt at ease with what the manager was doing. I agree with some people he was managing not to lose. I hate when football coaches do that-they lose. It is way easy to second guess but I just feel that Dunning was pulled to soon. I Have seen pitchers struggle in the first inning and then settle down , he did have two outs and it is not fair to say he would have been scored upon. We will never know and that is what bothers me a little. Dunning stays in and might get shelled or might get thru the easy second inning lineup. Does that change the final score who knows.

Why was Dunning pulled after 15 pitches?

good post by a-train our manager made poor pitching decisions in this game and hit the panic button way to soon-that affected the whole team. I have never seen a starting pitcher pulled out of a game in the first inning when healthy with 15 pitches thrown and 2 outs-sorry I would have given Dunning the chance. Worse case they score a couple of runs are the sox doomed to lose 2-0? I am not saying they would have won but they should have given the man a chance.
  13. You a good poster and know the game but we have no clue how he caught the virus . It could have been easy as standing next to the wrong person at the wrong . I just hope he recovers 100 percent by next spring.

    An honest question about Vaughn

I was worried he might be to slow but where does he play then? we currently have a pretty good first basemen who does not enjoy being a dh. I am curious how that will play out.
  15. When the White manager makes Terry Bevington look smart it is game over man game over. I understand being worried about Dunning but on the other hand he did have two outs and zero runs scored. Was our manager so scared that if Oakland score one run the game would be out of reach? I understand the everyone on deck thing that does not mean you use your whole bull pen by the 4th inning-still a 9 inning game. If this game had gone extra innings who was going to pitch? Colume for 5 innings? I have seen pitchers have not easy first innings the other team fails to score and then they settle down. I just thought the panic button was hit way to soon. I had a bad vibe when then they had a 3 run lead I was waiting for a bad news. I have doubts about this manager for next year and that is not just based on this series. If they hung onto Bevingotn for 3 years what does that tell you.

    The effectiveness of Don Cooper

I think his best days have come and gone. 2005 is a long long long ago. i think when pitchers do good on this team it done by themselves mainly. I doubt he will ever be fired.

Why was Dunning pulled after 15 pitches?

I did not mind seeing him pitch but I do not think the whole season should have been put on the shoulders of a guy with very limited experience. I just dont agree with wasting most of your pitching staff before half the game is over. Why was bummer only allowed one inning? That is one hell of a small pitch count really. Devils advocate why why was Rodon put on the team ahead of Lopez. I had no faith in Rodon I could not even watch when he was on the mound . At least Lopez had a few good moments here and there and had experience going more than one inning.. Did you really think you were going to get more than one good inning out of Rodon at the most. That was pouring gasoline onto the fire that was a gift to Oakland.

manager makes Terry Bevington look smart

who won the series-Oakland was not scared if they lost one game or fell behind are manager was. I do not care how you break it down the odds were with Dunning, he did somehow get two outs. If Dunning goes even just two innings the game turns on a dime. If he got out of the first inning unscored on he faced the 6th , 7th and 8th hitters in the second not excactly sluggers row. Did our manager think the sox needed a shut out out to win? How did Rodon get such a long leash and why was he in the game at that point. I had more faith in Dunning than Rodon. why did bummer only pitch one inning-that has to be the smallest pitch count allowed this year. The sox could have got two innings out of him.

Why was Dunning pulled after 15 pitches?

I agree I do not know what would have happened but the point is he was never given the chance. The game turns on a dime if he goes two innings or so before getting pulled out. He might have given up a 3 run home run and still should have not doomed the sox. I was Happy with a 3-0 lead but I was worried-I had bad vibes that we were headed into troubled waters. How Did Rodon have a longer leash than Dunning? Why was Rodon in the game at that point?

Why was Dunning pulled after 15 pitches?

One I putting that kind of pressure on crochet is wrong. How many innings did he pitch this year 3-or 4 ? not much more. I was not counting on him to be our savior. The odds were in favor of Dunning 1st and third two outs the house money is with the pitcher. How do we know he does not get out of that jam. If he did he stars the second with the 5th , 6th and 7th hitters not exactly sluggers. He might at least giving the sox two good innings. The thing is we will never know-he was not giving the chance. The fifth hitter in the lineup was not exactly Ted Williams

Why was Dunning pulled after 15 pitches?

How do you know that they score on Dunning in the first inning?????? I would have rolled the dice with him. If you had no faith in him then you should have let bummer start and pitch a few innings? why did he only pitch one inning. Lets say Oakland did score one run on the first inning did that mean the sox were doomed? Oakland was in the same situation and they did not panic like the sox did with their staff.
