  1. Didn't we inqure about Randy Winn during last offseason?
  2. You need to stop giving me crap, when it's unwarranted. Peace.
  3. The original question was" why do we need Beltran if we have Sweeney and Anderson?". I answered, because it's better to have a proven superstar than prospects. What's the f***ing problem with what I said, Steff?
  4. This would be funny, if it weren't so sad (but true).
  5. That's what I said above, if you take the time to read it.
  6. Out of respect for you, Steff, and the other posters, I will refrain from adressing Jim until he proves that he is mature/intelligent enough to have a discussion on the issues. I apologize to you all.
  7. The point is, IN GENERAL, it's better to have a proven superstar than it is to have/rely on prospects.
  8. I guarantee that there are more "can't-miss" prospects that "missed" than there are thant were successful big leaguers.
  9. Jon Rausch? Kip Wells? Bobby Hill? There are thi=osands of "can't -miss" prospects who missed. There are a lot more that missed then made it!
  10. To answer your question, in general, you should ALWAYS take a proven superstar over prospects. Prospects hardly ever pan out. Don't worry though, Beltran will play CF here when JR makes Boras his GM.
  11. I am not overly optimistic on Everett's future as a Chisox...are you?
  12. That was a compliment, Steff. He finally wrote something worth reading, and I commended him for it.
  13. Congratulations Jim...this was the first intelligent posting you've made. I guess even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile.
  14. 1. Please don't tell me how I should live my life, and or how I should raise my son; I would never presume to do that to you, or anyone else. (BTW, my son will be brought up as a Jew.) 2. Once again you have misinterpreted my point. All I am asking is that you show as much deference for my postings as you do for others'. No more, no less.
  15. I agree. Everett has "nothing left in the tank". He's done.
  16. How about you stop "playing favorites" and treat all posters equally?
  17. I haven't agreed with you much lately, but, WOW!!! Hook 'em Horns!
  18. True. Those acquisitions have been okay. But, they are not superstar caliber players, or even players around which you build a championship caliber team. They are complementary players. The Sox need a 5th starter; why go after another team's #5, when you can sign another team's #1, and plug him into our rotation? We shop at Target, other teams shop at Bloomingdales.
  19. What's the alternative? We sign nobody, and every 5 years we start another 5-year rebuilding plan?
  20. Yeah...and there are 2 major league teams in Chicago, and whether or not JR wants to admit it, the Sox are in competition with the cubs. If JR realizes who is competition is, and is not willing to compete with them, then maybe it's time ownership sold the team to someone who is willing to do what it takes to bring championship caliber baseball to the South Side.
