  1. We were drawing 30,000+ when the Sox were contending with the twins THIS year. Once Frank and Mags went down (and out) and we started falling, fans stopped coming out.
  2. According to this morning's Tribune, Marlins 3B Mike Lowell will likely become a free agent. 2004 stats, .293 27 hrs 85 rbis. A definite upgrade over Crede, (and he has played under Ozzie's coaching).
  3. You said he's a RF, I said he's played CF. Who's wrong?
  4. It is brilliant in it's simplicity. That's why (how) the great teams become (stay) great!
  5. I said Jones has played CF, you said he never had. You = wrong, me = right.
  6. Again...here is the 2-step I4E plan... 1. Identify the holes. 2. Fill them! Not difficult to understand.
  7. It was in one of today's papers, I think the Trib.
  8. I just said, here's a plan, identify the "holes", and fill them! (And don't tell me you can't afford to fill the holes, that's b.s.)
  9. I don't have a plan formulated, I am not a GM. But, they have to do something differently or we can all "enjoy" a future of never being WS contenders. How about identifying your "holes", and filling them?
  10. Jones played CF before they got Torii, if I remember correctly. He will be traded or released cuz he is arbitration eligible.
  11. Surprisingly (not really!) I agree with all of the above assessments. I am not one of those "blow the team up" people. We can add a few pieces to the "puzzle", and be right in the thick of things, i.e. another starter or two, a 3B, and Beltran, or JD Drew, or another quality CF (Jacque Jones?). Maybe get a catcher too. BTW, Addison, you have the best avatar, if you made it into a poster you'd sell tons!
  12. My whole point (and please try to refrain from the personal attcks, I have tried to do so.) is that what ownership has been doing for the last 20+ years is not (has not) working. We are no closer to being WS contenders than we were in 1983. Therefore, there is (OBVIOUSLY) something ownership is not doing right, maybe it's time we try another approach. How many more "5-year rebuilding plans" are we supposed to go along with?
  13. This is an AWESOME posting! Right on!
  14. You don't have the heart or the cojones to show up. Keep on being an apologist for Reinsdorf, and leave me the hell alone.
  15. If you want to make personal attacks, at least be a man about it and do it to my face. Don't hide behind your computer and/or your skirt.
  16. If they put players/team on the field that people want to see (i.e CONTENDERS), people will come out. History has shown that.
  17. 20+ years of not being close to a WS is getting real old!!!
  18. I can only respond to your (stupid) posting with something that has been said to me dozens of times...your credibility is lessened by making your attacks personal. Please refrain from doing so, or suffer the consequences of your actions. BTW, I don't claim to have the answers; but, since the Sox haven't won jack-s**t since ownership took over, I guess they don't have the answers either. (Their way isn't working, they have to try another way!!!)
  19. Funny. Could it be they wanted to play on a team with even a remote chance of making the playoffs? I am tired of this stupid, banging my head against a wall, thread. I cannot get it through to you people that, as long as you blindly support the team, they have no incentive to make the product better. I am (was) as guilty of this as any of you. I bought a 9-game package last year, as I have over the past 3 -5 years, I have purchased several Sox caps, jerseys, jackets, etc. I watch as many games as I can on tv (and will continue to do so), but I'm not "giving" more to the team until I see the team "giving" us more. Have a nice day/weekend.
