  1. Manny doesn't make that catch. Good call, Francona.
  2. This is a new low for you, Tony. I don't think its possible to be more objective than you're being.
  3. I'm not quite sure what you mean by this. Monday's are my busiest days, I've gone out drinking the last week due to these games. I'm content talking on the Red Sox message board with my buddies tonight. Don't be a dickhead.
  4. It's not a necessity to live, but if your body is unable to produce a normal amount, it could effect Paul Byrd being able to do his job, in which case it becomes a necessity to live. Steroids save lives.
  5. He's the man. I've never been so happy to look identical to someone that looks like John Clayton. Somebody on the Yankee board who has over a thousand posts said tonight that "Pedroia is the next Jeter". Quite the praise.
  6. You don't agree with me because my handle isn't "Sox Rule Cubs Drool!" or something of the sort. Yup, nail and noggin on what you wrote.
  7. Westbrook has come up huge. Gutsy as hell. The Red Sox have had a lot of chances to score and they've got only three runs to show for it. IMpressivve.
  8. What players don't you like on this team? IMO, they're very likable. They're young, down to earth, talented guys. Outside of Manny, I can't think of anybody whose disliked around the league.
  9. It's not choking, it's called the breaks that went the Indians way in games 2, 3, and 4 aren't going the same way in games 5 & 6. Two best teams in baseball, the future World Series Champion IMO. Great baseball right here. Enjoy it.
  10. Don't you dare think that she was the only one taking steroids. Track & Field is the dirtiest sport of any, Jones just happened to get caught. It was stupid of her to lie and she should be punished accordingly for that, but locking her up is nonsense. She is of no threat to society.
  11. Oh, and Tony. I'd love to hear your expertise chime in here... Why is it a good idea to extend the manager of the most underachieving team in baseball history's contract?
  12. As a starting point without the extension involved, I still do. One "l" in Wily, pal.
  13. I rate Ozzie Guillen as a top three worst managers in sports. Franchise threatening deal. Here come the flamers...
  14. No hard feelings, it's hard to tell a joke when everybody rips the Red Sox here.
  15. Can somebody shed details on the Pierzynski/Walker incident? They're discussing it on the Red Sox broadcast as if I'm supposed to know what happened. Freakin' Remy.
  16. He hasn't pitched all week and their off tomorrow. Use your head.
  17. I agree BigSqwert. It's unacceptable to have a payroll near the $100 million mark and be the worst team in baseball both on paper and in the standings. Pros: Josh Fields, Paul Konerko, Jermaine Dye, Jim Thome, A.J. Pierzynski and the rotation headed into '08. Cons: An "A" line-up of Andy Gonzalez, Jerry Owens, Danny Richar, Darin Erstad, to go along with the worst bullpen ever assembled. I also want to thank you for fielding a triple-a team against my boys this weekend.
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 05:25 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You mean the Theo Epstein that gave out horrid contracts to both JD Drew and Julio Lugo (or at least thats how it looks right now). MacDougall or Thornton plus BA for Willy Mo and we'd have ourselves a deal. If he kept most of the rotation he still would have plenty of prospects he could move to get Roberts (maybe not any prospect that was of LaRoche's caliber but he could still offer something) and a guy like Roberts would significantly upgrade the Sox offense and make the club just a far more efficient ball club (because I think we need speed). He's made some head scratchers, mainly the Julio Lugo signing. Nonetheless he pretty much has the evaluating the value of current players within the organization down to a science with Damon, Pedro, Lowe, Arroyo, Trot Nixon, Kevin Millar, Bill Mueller, Mark Bellhorn. Not to mention, as has been mentioned, he's done a number on the Red Sox minor league system since his arrival. It's certainly nice not having guys like Toma Ohka, Sun Woo Kim, Wilton Veras, Morgan Burkhart, Casey Fossum, Paxson Crawford, Dernell Stenson (RIP, buddy), etc. polluting the top 3 prospect lists. And again, for comparisons sake, he's twice the general manager than one Kenny Williams. Jason, I know you're not that dumb. Brian Anderson is valueless, has none. The Red Sox have four better back-up options in Ellsbury, Pena, Moss, and Murphy. Please tell me you're joking. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 06:38 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Theo's last good move was the Curt Schilling trade. That's retarded. To each his own. It's people like you that makes me cozy inside for knowing that the White Sox are one of the worst teams in baseball and are going to be giving up their best player for peanuts. I can't wait until he wins a World Series in a Red Sox uniform after being traded for Wily Mo Pena and Craig Hansen.
  19. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 02:38 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> riiiiiiiiiiiiiight, never There are people on here who I generally dislike. I'm not trying to get a rise, just letting it be known that I hate you... or them.
  20. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 01:59 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There's no way this can be serious. Are you just trying to get a rise out of people? I've never tried to get rises out of anyone, so given my track record that obviously what I was trying to do here. I saw a rumor in an article stating how the White Sox are thinking of trading Buehrle straight up for Matt Kemp and thought to myself, well hey, Wily Mo Pena is a better player, maybe that would work instead. QUOTE(Beltin @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 02:18 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Welcome to the World's Tallest Midget Competition! Setting the bar awfully low there, aren't you? So you disagree with my statement that Pena is better than anyone in the White Sox outfield at this point in time? If you don't mind me asking, whose better? I suppose you could make the argument for Jermaine Dye, but given his age and the fact that in two months he'll be gone, Wily Mo Pena is better than anybody the White Sox can throw out there.
  21. QUOTE(BearSox @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 12:48 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Let me guess... you like the Red Sox a lot more then you like the White Sox? When did I ever say differently? QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 01:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> As for your second offer, Kemp is still worth more than those three combined. That's just silly. QUOTE(rangercal @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 01:50 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> epstein may be the most overrated gm in baseball. Theo Epstein > The log I just pooped out (oh, the wonders of wireless internet) > Kenny Williams I do agree with you, though.
