  1. Yep. Radio in kitchen tuned to WGN hoping to hear my “parochial” school named while simultaneously watching the scroll on the Bozo Show looking for the same. Highest of highs and lowest of lows depending on the outcome.

They don’t. It’s actually the opposite according to the DV policy. I tweeted it earlier.

    Thanks.

I guess I should have made it more clear that I think they “should” have an obligation to disclose this type of stuff…

However, much like I felt with PEDs, I have a feeling they were plenty of whispers, so shame on the Sox for not doing their due diligence.

  3. I keep coming back because I’m a fan. That’s it.

I don’t die with the losses anymore, but I really enjoy the wins. The successes have been few and far between in my 40+ years as a fan (I’m 50yo) anyway, but my memories of those seasons outweigh the  many, many bad seasons. Honestly, they were bad (really bad) when I fist became a fan, so I can find a positive in almost anything more than .500.

I won’t stop watching or following when they suck, but I am able to relegate them to the lowest rung of my entertainment ladder when they do. Maybe this is the year…

Going straight by "odds" and "analytics" all these signings are crazy. 12 years? Anything can happen in 12 years but one this is for sure, a lot of money will be wasted on this deal and all deals like this deal. It's insane but I guess TV contracts and 30 dollar beers and 200 dollar parking will easily pay for it. How can teams afford to throw away money like this?

I’m pretty sure I agree with this. Yep. I read it again a few times, and I also don’t understand how these contracts are sustainable.

Hahn is a bad GM, but he’s not this dumb.  This is just typical New York fan arrogance leading to fake New York insiders to create ridiculously stupid, one-sided trade rumors.  Honestly, I just posted because it’s worth a good chuckle that anyone posted this as being legitimate.

I’m sure you are right. This trade idea is preposterous, but I’m so sick of being the big market team with a small market budget. Nothing would surprise me when it comes to JR being cheap.

I have nothing going on for Christmas this year and I couldn't be more excited.  Just going to be me, beer and basketball.  Perfect.

This is how I feel about the Super Bowl. I’d be ecstatic if I never got invited to another SB party and could just sit and watch the game myself.

“go back and give up some prospects and make one more big move.”

If we’re never really “at the table” for big-time FAs, trading our prospects and/or cost-controlled you guys (eg. Vaughn) is a bad idea for the long term of the Sox. Unfortunately, I think we’ll have to deal guys like Moncada/Robert/TA as they approach the end of their deals and hope our minor league players/trade recipients can step up and fill in.

I just wonder what the plan is moving forward. If everything goes as planned., whenthe contracts of the current Sox players expire , if they played as hoped, they all will be too rich for JRs blood. So no TA, no Robert, no Moncada, no Colas, no Vaughn, no Gio, no Cease, no Kopech.

the White Sox ownership and front office need a reality check. Either financially, philosophically or both, they are no longer suited to own and run a major league franchise that ever expects to win championships.

It will be a good excuse for me to stop paying attention to the Sox. Under current ownership, I don’t have any hope of the Sox competing financially with other teams.

All I know is 2 years were wasted with the hiring of TLR, this might have JR's biggest blunder in his 41 years of his torturous ownership with so many blunders, it's a miracle that there are still White Sox fans around on the planet.

TLR was a disaster, but they still made the playoffs his first season.

Biggest blunder was going to pay tv and dumping Harry Carey not long after buying the team. Lost a generation of fans.

Agreed.  To me, Gavin is a placeholder for 3-4 weeks until Colas arrives and then is in AAA purely as an injury insurance.  Gavin is a fine depth piece to have around to fill in for a couple weeks when needed, but he's close to worthless as bench piece.  He has an option; hope to Sox abuse it this year.

    Same goes for Burger, btw.

On a normal roster, both would have value if the team doesn’t already have 9 DH/1B types
