The bullpen management in this game is just fucking LOL…Why not extend Lopez an extra inning after he made quick work of them?..I don't fucking understand…Lopez threw ELEVEN FUCKING PITCHES. He can't go another inning? What the f***? HENDRIKS THREW FIFTEEN…How the f*** can you not extend these guys?
I’ve been saying this all season. I don’t understand this idea a relief pitcher can only pitch one inning regardless of pitch count.

I think I want to ignore everything Sox until Saturday morning. Sleep late. Enjoy a nice cup of coffee. Maybe check on my landscaping. Detail my truck. Plan a couple woodworking projects. Then pull up the MLB app to learn if the season is over.
That is a great plan. Not sure I could do it, but it sure would remove an unnecessary stress from my life.

For those of you scoring at home, I’m updating my lifetime stats. 100% of the time I drop a screw or something small near a sink, it finds the drain.

Naylor swinging on 1-0, down 3 runs. Kinda dumb.
Future White Sox for sure.

The Sox only real hope is Cleveland going 10-11 the rest of the way. I don’t see that happening. Plus, the Sox would still have to go 14-5 (also don’t see that happening) because I think Cleveland has the tiebreaker.
Pretty certain we’re done.

Tony not cleared to manage.
Hahn forced by JR to let him manage anyway. Uncomfortable press conference to be scheduled. 😉

This game is a microcosm of the entire season. Disappointing. Exhausting. Infuriating.
Quoting you only because this is where I tapped out last night because I had to get to bed early, and I didn’t disagree with you at the time.
Feels like the first time all season the Sox have had a comeback like this. Totally shocked when I checked the score this morning.
I’m still not sure how I’ll feel if the Sox make the playoffs after the terrible season they’ve had to this point, but I’m more than willing to find out.

6-3 without TLR at the helm, so far.
Surely it’s just a coincidence.

OG CBS One Shining Moment
Was at the Dallas Comegys game (2:09-2:12) at the Rosemont Horizon!
IIRC, this was the last game the losing team (Syracuse coach by perma-corrupt Jim Boeheim) had to wait courtside through the championship celebration to receive their second place trophy.
Speaking of perma-corrupt, Rick Pitino hugs senior Billy Donovan at the 3:12 mark.
35 years later, and I think I could name around 70% of the players and coaches. If I saw last year’s I could probably name 10%.

33 games left. To get to 88 wins they have to go 25-8 the rest of the way. That’s a .758 winning required.
If my math is correct, looks like a 96 win season isn’t out of the question.

what's the difference between being a Sox fan and being an alcoholic?
A Sox fan will probably never be brought out of retirement to manage the team?

To get to 800 yards over a 17 week schedule he would need to average a whole 40 ypg.
Is this the new math they talk about?
My abacus came up with 680 yards if he averages 40 ypg for 17 weeks.

Can TLR get kicked out of the HOF?

Lack of urgency, getting out hustled, and being fundamentally challenged are all things the manager controls.
Physical errors and losing an individual matchup falls on the players.
Being physically prepared to play is a group effort.

I feel like last year’s team was so much more loose and having much more fun. Almost like they saw TLR meandering around the ST fields and said, I don’t care who’s managing us or what he’s saying, we’re “changing the game.” Chains, celebrations, smiles, etc.
This year, from day one, it’s felt like a collective “oh boy, Gramps is still here?!” Total let down. They play with the energy and enthusiasm of their manager.

It may be that he’s almost 80 years old and is probably at the ballpark for 12 hours every day.
I wish he had the awareness to realize he’s not physically or mentally able to do this job anymore, but he’s too stubborn. We’re stuck with him until he gets “promoted” to an advisory role. Then, he’ll be involved in hiring the next guy.

I wish I knew how to quit this team.

If it barely clears the wall at the 398 ft mark and statcast measures it at 410 then what do you say ?
I’d probably have the same question about the distance. Doesn’t really matter.

Cause the wall is 15 feet high.

Well, if it hit the wall, it only went 398 feet.

How was Seby’s ball 405 feet when it hit to the left of the sign that says 398?

Starter goes 5 innings. Let’s bring in 3 or 4 relievers for an inning each.
Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

When five guys have already pitched one inning or fewer out of the pen, the remaining guys are forced to stay in no matter how bad they look. This is one of the problems with limiting all the relievers to one inning every game.
