  1. Oh I completely agree with you. I just think the Sox are different and go cheap. Maybe they think the pen upgrade is cheaper and can bridge the gap. Who knows I just think the window is really shrinking.
  2. It also could mean right knee hanging by a thread shut down for two weeks then try again . Otherwise surgery
  3. May I ask what everyone is watching I have xfinity and I can’t find the game .
  4. I agree they will need to pay and give up if they think this is the window. Lynn is a big key to this team. Another Avenue is replacing Kimbrel in the pen. I am not saying this is optimal but if they move Lopez up and get a pen guy it would cost less which is what the Sox like doing.
  5. It’s going to be hard to win without your number 2 starter and innings eater. Trade or no trade there is trouble if Lynn needs surgery. Terrible news
  6. It’s a player option not a team option. If Pollack leaves for free agency the Sox pay him 5 million to leave. He can choose to stay for 10 million
  7. I am actually with you on this . I was more excited going into last year at this time.
  8. Agreed the Sox came into the off season. With holes and addressed very little if any. There minors leagues suck , so can’t address from within, and they really didn’t get any difference makers just fill ins. Others addressed there holes with difference makers. If we are done adding then it will be tough to go deep this year just like past years.
  9. Well at least we know one team ( the Braves) we’re talking trade for kimbrell. That’s a start. Maybe there are a few more.
  10. I think the Sox would agree to opt outs. If they believe in colas and their payroll is expected to be higher to keep their own they would love opt outs. Sounds good to me opt out all you want.
  11. Yes traded with Thompson to the dodgers, he never played with them , went to oakland I get it. Semian, Bassitt other examples in recent history . that said maybe Oakland does a better job or developing some of the fringe players. maybe they don't.
  12. I am coming to find out that other teams are just better at developing players or identifying potential better than the Whitesox are. Oakland just has some pretty good insights as it pertains to trades with the whitesox.
  13. No thats not my logic because correa is a top player, conforto is not. At least not in my standard. Freeman top player, conforto not. I guess I am saying why hasn't somebody swooped in and grabbed this guy. Balta says because he was a qualifying offer .. ok that maybe a reason for sure but if he is so good who the hell cares. Correa is that good, but he will cost huge dollars. Freeman is that good but he will cost huge dollars. Conforto is not in that league. may be people value the lost pick more than conforto.
  14. Do qualifying offers still exist in the new agreement?
  15. Good point but crochet pitches with the Sox the same year he was drafted not sure sale did that.
  16. Abreu will go year to year if he comes back he doesn’t want another team and the Sox want him but not long term.
  17. When crochet came he was suppose to be chris sale but if he was chris sale he would be in the rotation by now. I don’t know what he is except a lefthander .if he is not chris sale then get something for him, if he is chris sale then get him in the rotation.
  18. So a lot of people on this board want conforto but he is one of the last people to sign or even be mentioned to sign. What do others know about him or why hasn’t he signed . If he is that good that everyone on here drools why hasn’t anyone signed him?
  19. with the cubs getting Villar the cubs doing what the whitesox do with their bullpen. stacking up players. Maybe we trade kimbrel back and get Horner? ( joking but not really) Just seems like they have alot of Middle infielders at the moment.
  20. But what assets do we really have to trade at the deadline even for a real good rental? Our minor league system is really bad and if we cant swing deals now for a one year pitcher why would we be able to swing for deals later when more teams will be fighting for playoff spots and they have better systems to deal from. The sox are at their highest payroll in their history now and re probably two players away from really being a world series contender with no minor league prospects that many teams care about. Not arguing at all but we gave up two players from our current roster last year at the deadline.
  21. I agree as I have said in earlier threads this is hahns mess to clean up. Management gives a budget ( right or wrong) managers implement there staff or team. Your measured on results . Hahn is mismanaging.
  22. sox keep giving this guy a life. I just dont get it.
