  1. QUOTE (God Loves The Infantry @ May 9, 2016 -> 08:24 PM) I'm only following on GameDay- is Gonzalez looking like a viable fifth starter or is he getting lucky? He looks way better than the last time.
  2. Pretty impressive through 4. The Rangers were playing well coming in to the game too.
  3. Well this is a nice surprise with Gonzalez, hope it lasts...
  4. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 9, 2016 -> 07:47 PM) Not a fa until 2020. He'll still cost the moon. Good point I forgot he had those arb years left. Not sure why he was rumored to be traded this offseason then?
  5. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ May 9, 2016 -> 07:38 PM) If Gonzalez has a solid outing, how much time does that buy him? Another start? The trade deadline provided he doesn't completely fall apart like Danks. We have no one better (or ready).
  6. QUOTE (wsiskel @ May 8, 2016 -> 06:47 PM) Sign me up for a Lucroy-Braun package to the White Sox. That'd require Tim Anderson and pitching prospects. That would require Fulmer/Anderson/Adams and probably another player (May?). You might as well see if Trout is available before going for a deal like this.
  7. I'm still not sold. He's looked so lost at times this year where it's hard to believe he looked that bad. He has no defensive value in the OF so unless he can hit .280+ with power he's really not going to be a useful player in the long run. Compared to the rest of our lineup he doesn't look terrible but we haven't had a solid DH in years.
  8. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ May 7, 2016 -> 03:33 PM) Sadly, Anderson and Fulmer doesn't sniff Trout. Ya need to package Rodon as well I'm sure. The issue with that is it'd blow up our team if we moved Eaton, Q and Rodon in a package. I don't even know what the package would be. I'm sure we'd be outbid. Especially by the Dodgers or Red Sox I think Rodon would be way more enticing for them than what another team could offer since he's young and proven at the ML level and under control at low cost for quite a while. I think the only way we could make that deal though is if we find an adequate #5 starter to get us through the year without making another trade. Because we'll have to make a trade for another starter.
  9. I would give them Eaton and Rodon or Rodon/Fulmer/Adams/Anderson for Trout. That's as good of a deal as they're going to get.
  10. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 7, 2016 -> 07:35 PM) Stranding bases loaded 2 times in 4 innings SUCKS Just like the Boston game. Saw it coming.
  11. Hit 2 batters and walked a guy too? Wtf get your head in the game Sale
  12. QUOTE (Vance Law @ May 7, 2016 -> 12:07 AM) Good lord. Lincecum has been complete dogs*** since after 2011. ERA+ of 75, 75 in 615 innings from 2012 through 2015. 1.40 WHIP. 4 walks per 9. 4.68 ERA in a pitchers park in the National League. John Danks over that stretch 82 ERA+ coming off shoulder capsule surgery. Miguel Gonzalez over that stretch 107. It's not like Lincecum was good, got injured last year and now is coming back. He's been absolute dogs*** for years, has been sent to the bullpen. But the meathead media omits all of that- they know he's a former Cy Young winner and that's literally all they know. There's no reason to assume Lincecum is as good as Erik Johnson, Miguel Gonzalez, Chris Beck, Scott Carroll, John Danks, Mark Buehrle or anyone else. Someone will give him some money though. Angels have like 2 starting pitchers. Some bad team can offer him a little money, hope they get a lucky streak from him and flip him at the deadline. He's probably going to the Angels. I wouldn't want him on this team anyway. I think Milone would be a better rebound candidate. Milone has been an AL guy his whole career and I think Lincecum will have a whole lot of problems transitioning to the AL.
  13. I'd rather see them put up 20 runs against these bush league bums tomorrow. Just embarrass them into oblivion.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 6, 2016 -> 12:19 PM) If the Orioles thought Gonzalez still had "it," he wouldn't have been jettisoned. Especially in that division, you can't get away with 87-90 when you've previously been in the low and even mid 90's earlier in your career. Whether he comes close to getting that fastball back, that's going to be one of the big keys. Yes, it's obvious. And we've had guys like Paulino who were throwing mid 90's without any command that got ripped to shreds easily enough. Not just about throwing hard, but command/control in and out of the zone. If you look at the fact that they lost one of their best pitchers in Chen to the Marlins and STILL let Gonzalez walk, that's pretty telling about their confidence in him going forward. The same O's team we nearly got Arietta from for a bag of balls. Not a very good post.
  15. His foot was in the line before he even had the ball look how lawrie had to slide to get around him
  16. Why are we running in a fastball count? Stupid
  17. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ May 5, 2016 -> 08:18 PM) Owens is garbage. The Sox should be teeing off the second time through. He has worse stuff than EJ really sad we can't hit this bum
  18. We don't have a single guy who can't get shelled every 5th day? Geez
