  1. So they are ranking him top 30 based on stats ALONE. He may be there i never said he wasn't. Just that Nunez is over Mogollon for me and almost every industry guy that I work with agrees with that.
  2. The stament is referencing the entirety of the prospect and major league pool and then looking at the players 5'8" or shorter. The percentage that exist as a legit prospect or legit major leaguer is extremely small. You can also look at the players with those heights that have come from the DSL to stateside. Look at the hype some people had, *cough *cough, around Loidel Chapelli and Cesar Prieto. Both older and have much better prospect status and skills than Mogollon. Both dropped off cliffs stateside. It will also happen to a degree to Mogollon. Its just the nature of it all.
  3. Yes, physics are against him more than someone 6'2" or taller. The power will never amount to more than a 10-15 home run profile, unless he breaks the laws of physics and the odds are far and away against that happening. All we really have on Mogollon is stats and his size. There are a few videos of him out there but they don't offer a ton. Based on my expertise and judgment, its easily Nunez Jr. over Mogollon
  4. It about future projection and abilities. Mongollon doesn't project to increase in power (decrease actually). Mongollon is fighting against physics and the odds are that he is not going to be the one in a million rare golden unicorn Its also more about Nunez Jr. and his bigger projectability.
  5. In scouting and ranking the DSL, looking merely at production is where you will get lost and why many fail when doing so. It helps a ton but can be big red herrings at times. Mongollon stands 5'8" and will be a non factor the higher he moves up in the minors unless he is graced with a growth spurt. The power will vanish quicker than White Sox fans' hopes for a 2024 playoff berth. Nunez Jr. on the other hand is one of the top DSL players for me. He showed power, speed, and big time plate discipline (33 BB to 22 K). While I haven't done my Sox rankings yet, I have done my preseason top 275 prospects and Nunez Jr. came in at 213 right ahead of the Reds' Alfredo Duno. I do agree with the excitement going into this year, as it should be a lot more fun at the Arizona Complex League with Nunez Jr., Mongollon, Flores, and Gil there. Last year's J15 class was sneaky good
  6. Looking forward to the main list. The only big glaring miss in my opinion is Abraham Nunez Jr. I haven't put my top 30-50 together yet but he definitely slots into the top 30 for me.
  7. Eder, Mena, Carela, Veras and Gladney are must keeps and will be added to protect them. Only one that I would risk of those 5 is Gladney just bc someone ain't wasting a 25 man spot on him yet, the others certainly could be lost
  8. Thank goodness JB is gone. I can start listening to games again. Terrible broadcaster (for all sports) imo They need to bring in AJ if they can
  9. Please let the door nail TA on the way out lol
  10. Someone pony up and buy the Sox from JR and its a Xmas miracle
  11. Dominguez the SP at AAA is someone to keep an eye on, has good stuff and is building back up after TJS I believe. He can be a sneaky good one
  12. If its was plausible I'd say fire KW and Hahn but that ain't gonna happen so no point in suggesting that. As for Pedro, I'd be on board for firing him for allowing the culture to continue but JR created it when he hired TLR and fired Renteria so im in different in general A new body transplant maybe lol
  13. My personal opinion these transactions should be made today DFA or suspend TA for the remainder of the season (he will never play for the Sox again, exercise the $1m buyout for 2024) and call up Sosa to play SS DFA Andrus and call up Rodriguez to split time at 2B with ZR and SS with Sosa DFA Grandal and call up Lee Team meeting where the law is laid down with clear expectations and punishments are set forth Some player better step up and get this s%*# corrected (Eloy, Robert, Cease, and Kopech would be my hope)
  14. Why resign when you getting paid big money to trash do nothing lol
  15. Bc Lynn was the problem. He was a vet expected to lead and he didn't lol
  16. Not sure anyone believed this. Abreu I think was part of the problem imo. So were Lynn, TA, Gio, etc. The vets were not leaders. Eloy and Robert are the kids still and should not have been expected to lead but the vets and JR failed this team during the rebuild. TA, Moncada, Andrus, Grandal and Liam need to go ASAP as they are the core of the problems and all FAs (Moncada has 1 year left). They should have been traded without a second thought. All can just as easily be DFA (except Moncada)
  17. Only thing that will teach him some humility is three letters.... DFA
  18. Ramirez kinda game him a nudge while TA was standing over him. Then put his finger in his face after he stood up
  19. Santos but he went on the bereavement list today
  20. TA got what he deserved, an ass whopping Now DFA TA tomorrow
  21. Definitely a solid A for Hahn. Got rid of trash and got some big time talent and upside back, while keeping the competitive window in striking distance.
  22. It's gonna be real refreshing when we have Quero and Lee up and don't have to wvee see Grandal and Zavala again
