  1. Can we expect to see Burger in Kannapolis this season?
  2. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jun 17, 2017 -> 01:32 AM) Amazing how far we've come in just a couple of short years. Truly amazing how just a few trades, and a couple of drafts can turn things around so quickly.
  3. I really hope that these guys really start to get more recognition. Stephens has done so well at the Double-A level with a 0.98 ERA through 3 starts. Hickman, not including tonight, with a 1.93 ERA through 3 starts as well. He is also allowing just 1 BB per start. Always nice to have depth, especially considering we already have Giolito, Kopech, Fulmer, Lopez, Dunning, and Hansen.
  4. Rodon with 1 ER, 4 H, 0 BB, and 1 K through 4.
  5. QUOTE (kwill @ Jun 17, 2017 -> 07:59 PM) Feel pretty confident Archer goes to the Yankees for a huge package. Tanaka got bashed yet again. Wainwright got destroyed as well. Cards in interesting position with Cubs scuffling. Why would the Rays trade Archer in their own division with them being 4.5 games back from the division and 1 game out of the Wild Card. That would deject their current roster and fan base. If Archer gets moved, I would think it would be to the west coast to either Dodgers or Rockies who could offer a premium package. Yankees and White Sox all along would make for a good marriage as long as the White Sox are realistic in what they get back. They would be doing good to get Frazier, Andujar, and Kaprielian. All three have big ceilings with some risk. At this point both Frazier and Andujar are top 100 guys with Kaprielian being a wild card with TJ. For Quintana? I think you have to start with Frazier and Mateo. Would like to have Rutherford, but I think Frazier and Mateo is a more realistic starting point.
  6. QUOTE (Tony @ Jun 17, 2017 -> 07:41 PM) Sox deserve some credit as wel. They are a VERY conservative organization overall, and have been pleasantly surprised how they have embraced the "rebuild" on social media, providing graphics and stat updates each day from top performers in the system. I think that it speaks volumes to White Sox fans as well. White Sox fans are showing up to the games still, and Charlotte is seeing crowds at 10,000+ on a regular basis. I know Charlotte has always been a great baseball town, but these fans are showing up to see Moncada, Fulmer, Giolito, Lopez, Delmonico and Burdi on a regular basis.
  7. QUOTE (Tony @ Jun 17, 2017 -> 07:43 PM) It's been talked about a little here, but I'm curious what type of package the Sox could get from the Nats for Robertson AND Kahnle. All the sudden it pushes everyone back in their pen, takes care of the 8th and 9th for them and really changes the entire makeup of their pen. If the Nationals hadn't traded Lopez, Giolito and Dunning, I think this would be a different conversation. But I see no reason that Robertson and Kahnle shouldn't fetch Robles +. The Nationals have a legit shot at the World Series and should be filling any hole to ensure that they get there. To add a 1-2 punch like Kahnle-Robertson, that would be huge for the Nats.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 17, 2017 -> 07:39 PM) Feel pretty confident Archer goes to the Yankees for a huge package. Tanaka got bashed yet again. What do you think the Yankees would have to give up for Archer?
  9. QUOTE (Tony @ Jun 17, 2017 -> 07:28 PM) All about value. In 2017, he has been a flat out one of the best RPs in baseball. If someone wants to pay for that value, you move him for assets that will help for the future. If no one wants to pay, keeping him around isn't going to hurt this team. That's how I feel. But I have to imagine there will be a pretty strong market for him. Seems like the only thing that will stop any other team for giving us a huge return is the small sample size.
  10. I don't think we get a Chapman like return for Robertson, but the trade really shows how valuable a good closer is for teams these days. And the White Sox have extra bullpen pieces like Kahnle and Swarzak. I expect a very nice return for when we trade Robertson.
  11. Hoping for a really good outing from Rodon tonight. Can't wait to have him back with the big club.
  12. Fulmer is in an interesting spot for me. In reality, he's only been in pro ball for 2 years. I think initially he was rushed up through the system. Yeah he is a little older, but realistically he should probably be where? I would say Birmingham, or just starting in Charlotte. I think Fulmer could be a really nice 5 pitcher for the White Sox, or he could be an excellent bullpen piece.
  13. Kubat also made the roster. 7 Intimidators now in the All-Star Game.
  14. Kahnle impressive yet again. Should be interesting come the trade deadline. Do people around here generally want to hold on to him for the rebuild, or trade him for prospects?
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 17, 2017 -> 06:51 PM) You've got to hold onto him for awhile, even if your intent is to trade him. I don't think the League is sold on him either. You're exactly right. In my opinion, so much time has been invested into him, plus he fills two needs for the White Sox, that you have to stick with him. I don't want to get my hopes up, but I have a hard time believing this could be a fluke since it has lasted so long. Avi is still relatively young as well.
  16. My Top 15 would look something like this: 1. Moncada 2. Kopech 3. Robert 4. Lopez 5. Giolito 6. Fulmer 7. Collins 8. Dunning 9. Hansing 10. Burdi 11. Burger (Once Signed) 12. Stephens 13. Basabe 14. Fisher 15. Call
  17. Awesome game for Dunning. Hopefully this gets him back on track to be somewhat close to what he was for Kannapolis.
  18. Tucker for Q would be the big trade for me. Obviously would need 2 or 3 more pieces, but that's where I would lean. If he goes to the Yankees, I think you need Frazier and Rutherford to start the talks.
  19. Sox are in a tough spot with Avi Garcia. There are two sides to the spectrum. 1. Do you capitalize on his breakout season and trade him for a couple of prospects? 2. Do you hang on to him knowing that the White Sox need offense, but run the risk of the season being a fluke for him? I would trade Q and try to get the main two centerpieces to be bats. I think that is vital for the rebuild.
