  1. Glad he distinguished between a couple and a few.
  2. I'd go Moncada, Machado, Abreu, Eloy when the time came. I expect a significant drop in K's for Moncada if he's hitting ahead of those three instead of Yolmer and Avi
  3. You'd think it was a race to extend this out as far as possible, while also being the one to sign first.
  4. Ya don't say?
  5. Fighting over 154 vs 162, in my opinion, is a complete wasted effort.
  6. Someone did calculate it. https://library.fangraphs.com/misc/re24/
  7. Is it M A N N Y M A C H A D O?
  8. And obviously lineup limitations change the math, but on average a runner on first with 0 outs scores more often than one on second with 1 out who scores more often than a runner on 3rd with 2. Outs, in general, are almost always bad.
  9. It's more like 10 times out of a hundred. Or the difference between a .200 hitter and .300 hitter. Last year Harper was on base almost 15 extra times out of 100. Nobody is saying a walk is better than a hit. It's not. It's just better than an out 99% of the time. Teams that are on base more score more. Therefore they win more.
  10. It was either a 3 win season or a 1 win season depending on who you ask
  11. Any odds above 0% is not worth gambling that much money on. Especially if your a guy with past knee surgeries
  12. Let’s say hypothetically kris Bryant was a an FA last off-season and took a pillow deal for this year. He got hurt and wasn’t himself. Now it’s likely that next year he’ll go back to being kris Bryant, but nobody knows for sure and the contract will reflect that. He just cost himself 50-75 million dollars. Its not a risk worth taking because he wanted to play somewhere that wasn’t interested.
  13. I promise you they aren't going to forgo over 150 million dollars to make some rebellious point
  14. If he was satisfied, we wouldn't be here anymore.
  15. Wait did manny refuse a meeting? What the hell are we waiting around for then?
  16. His source told him something everybody assumes. Nailed it.
  17. They will go to whoever pays them what they want. The money just isn't there yet.
  18. -We all say for the 17th time in the the last month and a half
  19. Those are the fishiest ones for sure. I would not be at all surprised if there is some sort of handshake agreement to get and stay under luxury tax
  20. So what happens if hypothetically the Sox sign Machado for, say, 175 million and it later comes out that the owners were in fact colluding to suppress salaries? Nothing?
  21. Dude doesn’t have to go anywhere near Chicago in january
  22. You need to work on your meter
  23. You can’t risk blowing up a negotiation because you can’t decide if you need to trade for Joc Pederson. That would be a horrible idea.
  24. Never? He will have to make decisions independent of Machado
  25. Is 20 below cold enough to cryogenically freeze oneself? Asking for a friend.
