  1. Machado's 2017 was such an anomaly it should be completely thrown out. He had by far his worst BABIP of .265 despite having his best Hard contact percentage and no significant change is his GB/FB ratio compared to 16 and 18. That's historically bad luck for a player of his caliber.
  2. The white Sox or Padres signing that deal makes zero sense
  3. I don’t see anything on Harper specifically but the Phillies had a big jump to win the World Series up from 18/1 https://mobile.twitter.com/OddsShark/status/1090082189734264833
  4. Pretty sure he almost blew up the Shields trade. Shame really.
  5. I would put the Sox at 60%, The Phillies at 30% and the field at 10%
  6. I think that was more of them saying they aren't going to trade guys for short term answers. It's literally impossible for them to not sign stop gaps at this point.
  7. He almost certainly is smart enough to know that. That still doesn't make it wise to publicly admit that you're in deep if you fail to get the guy.
  8. Again, what else is he supposed to say given that question? Publicly acknowledging that they need him as bad as they do would only make Hahn's job more difficult.
  9. Let's maybe just put the pitchforks away until there's a signing, yeah?
  10. Reading into a bunch of GM speak like it means anything is being pretty irrational.
  11. Oh man the sky is falling today, huh?
  12. Sure but being an interesting person doesn’t make you a good pre game analyst
  13. I would put the odds of it getting done on a weekend somewhere around 0%
  14. He can’t get a job because he literally quit on a team and then was bad in his next job. Not to mention the game is far past his style. It’s not that complicated, quit trying to make it something it’s not.
  15. They make money off actual Cubs games. They want as many people as possible interested in tuning into cubs games. Hell, they have gone as far as trying to convince Sox fans to root for the Cubs. They certainly don't have an obligation, legal or moral, to behave otherwise. If that bothers you, stop listening. They don't owe you anything.
  16. There's no way there was a deadline.
  17. Im guessing someone got in his ear to not be so eager to talk about it as to not say something he shouldn't
  18. It's dumb but do you expect the guy to come out and say that this was an organizational failure if they don't sign him? They have to at least try to spin it.
  19. especially if it's the gd padres
  20. Cool and all, put get your damn guy now please.
  21. "If we don't convert on one of these guys we are screwed. Sorry everyone"
  22. Not sure what else you'd want him to say, unless you were looking for "Oh that? yeah we wrapped that up an hour ago"
  23. Idk if this is just a ploy or what, but this has to have stressed out Jerry and co. I'd be terrified they're going to get caught with their pants down this weekend.
