It would be nearly impossible to sustain success as promised when trading the best pitcher the Sox have ever had if your not competitive until 2022-2023. So winning a World Series in 2022 or 2023, while certainly a positive outcome, would be failing to deliver on what was pitched to the fan base to get them on board with garbage baseball.

I don't blame the guy for having a chip on his shoulder considering people have been moving him to Center since the day he was drafted. He's said in the past he'd be willing to move, and he's not saying he won't move here. He's saying I'm gonna try my hardest to make sure the best move for the team isn't moving me.

First of all, competing for a division is the same as competing for the World Series, if you get to the dance you can win the thing. This isn't the NBA. Second, if, your not competing for a championship until the guy you traded a Hall of Fame pitcher for is in his walk year, Rick Hahn should be fired yesterday.

Punting 2019 should bother some people. Punting 2020 should be completely unacceptable. Maybe they're not quite there yet in 2020, but if they're still running minor league filler out there on a daily basis that is a huge problem and people should not be happy with that.

The second wild card team is almost certainly going to be better than Cleveland. They were this year. Cleveland was barely better than the first team out.

Agreed. You add Machado and Pederson and you have by far the bullpen in the division and pretty close to the best lineup(though id still definitely take Cleveland). It wouldn’t take that much to break right to be right in this thing at the end.

I’m just glad we can stop gemming and hawing about the first unanimous HOFer because it was a dumb thing to begin with.
