It has just occurred to me that they probably thought it'd be best with the normal hat, realized the money involved, and went for something that would look like the normal hat from a distance.

What I mean is I don't think it picks up anywhere near as much steam in the media if it's anyone else's name.

I don't think people realize the value of a guy who just puts bat on ball in a year where there's already been 6(?) no-hitters. Will a guy like that be worth anything if and when tey change the ball back? Not so much, but we need to change how think about offense fundamentally compared to the last few years.
